this is ridiculous. There is a sticky about xenobiology (staring at plants) on the exploration forum but nobody has stickied the Open Letter Template...which is objectively far more useful and informative on the odyssey forum.
Why not? I had this theory/observation/realization.
I usually joke a lot about "normal" things and "normal" people. I mean "majorities".
The point is I consider minorities as "normal" as the rest, so I joked about them too sometimes, and it sometimes ended badly.
How can I treat something as normal and equal if I can not make jokes about it?
It makes no sense to me.

it's not difficult to grasp ..
if someone falls down and is not really hurt, laughing is fine.
if someone falls down and has bones sticking out of their skin and is bleeding out. Laughing is frowned upon.
minority groups that have been marginalized by the majority tend to be in the second group... especially when you're not obviously within that marginalized group yourself.

The fact some minority are still tortured and killed in some country, or treated as second class citizen in many other, make it a sensitive subject.
I'm all for making jokes of everything, in fact, the most painful the better. But you need to do it in a way that is appropriate. Humour is only good if both side are laughing.
Yeah, you are right, it ended as usually, what actually confirmed my point.
PS. Best gay jokes I ever heard were told by gays, in their clubs, where they feel confident enough to not be oversensitive about their identity.
what middle ages marginalized group are you making fun of ? peasants? subsidence farmers?
