yea, i can't wait for a bunch of people to crash. (the model s you speak of is the new plaid version. older model s's could do it a little slower (and they had plaid mode ..but that's different ))
above a certain acceleration potential ..cars really should require an additional test/license. basically anything that can go faster than 0-60 in 6 seconds. sounds good.
you shouldn't be allowed to be a crappy regular driver and have that kind of power at your control.

They're not even allowed to drag race it because it lacks a roll cage and other safety equipment required for cars that go as fast as it does.
i think when those guys are saying you need all that special stuff, the government really needs to make sure you're qualified to actually use one on public roads.

They start impressive, all looks good on paper, but before you actually start having fun the batteries are out of juice or it overheats and you have to make a break.
