Re-reading Dune for the 97423th time, and with the new movie coming up at some point, that got me to think back on the wild choices of props/costumes of the terrifyingly low-budget tv miniseries adaptation of the early 2000s:

I think it's sweet that the actors got their mums to make the costumes for them.

The film looks visually stunning, as most films do now with CGI. Im worried about the actual acting etc - it just looked / sounded like generic American Action film - with all the usual set pieces, mumbling actors etc. I hope I'm wrong - as the book has been crying out for good film version of it for years.
