I had a terrible accident yesterday - where I clicked add to basket, followed by 'Pay' on an RTX 3070.
Thankfully, it was all paid for by some unexpected dev work for a customer, so the f'ing ripoff price didn't matter - it was unexpected money
It makes a hell of a difference (compared to my 2060 Super) in other games / VR - not sure it will in EDO, yet - but will be ready for when the performance fixes arrive (I'm in an optimistic mood )

But then the chips shortage and cryptominer nation attacked.
Meanwhile, my mother had issues with her computer, and I rebuilt one for her. Since my stepdad company was paying for it, and considering a 3000series is worth about as much as a 1000series in the current situation (go figure), she has a 3060ti. Which is way better than me.
The most extensive game she plays is sims 4.
Last year I was seconds away from buying a 2070 but thought I should wait for the 3000 series launch instead.
Past me is stupid.
Hindsight is a killer this year.

Indeed and now the chip makers are upping their prices so that'll have a knock on effect for the cpu market.
yes,
the prices are utterly stupid / ridiculous - I wouldn't have bought it normally - but times are $h1te at the min, so needed some cheering up, and I didn't have to pay for it (sort of)
I now have an RTX 2060S to sell - £20,000 anyone
