It must be adorable Rubbernuke to be constantly told you're wrong about PP.
they dont say he's wrong. They do worse, and imply that he might be totally right, but it doesn't matter. Because they dont care enough to do anything about it.

I just got one of those for my burfday but had the missus send it back... gonna build me own instead. And here was me thinking I was ballin when I bought a stream deck and set up a button to turn on my ship lights.

That said, pointless buying fancy stuff since Elite is still hamstrung by the 32 button input limit from 20 years ago. Plopped a grand on a high end setup over the summer and can't use half the buttons. (Throttle has 80 inputs or something mad on it!)

I use the same joystick - throttle setup. Virpil. Use joystick gremlin to unlock all the buttons in game.I just got one of those for my burfday but had the missus send it back... gonna build me own instead.

I do that.
Watch out with the throttle usb connector also. If its the older steel connector the green cable is liable to snapping off the joint. It seems to be a common fault. the replacement they sent is redesignedI just got one of those for my burfday but had the missus send it back... gonna build me own instead.

You mean my conversations elsewhere? It must be adorable Rubbernuke to be constantly told you're wrong about PP.
Have to say the thing that caught my eye was the Lego.I just got one of those for my burfday but had the missus send it back... gonna build me own instead.

I used to use Roccat Power Grid - sadly now discontinued - it was great as an immersive extension to the HOTAS and keyboard. I may look into Matric that looks somewhat similar should I ever dip back in to ED...I'd love a stream deck - best bit would be the reliability!
I've bored people with my controller set up a number of times here and it's now at the point where I have to whack it to get it to work, adds a new element of realism to go with the dangly wires in some ships.

Yup. Ordered a decent puck on the amazons, dismantled it and routed out a hole underneath to recess it. To be fair, it's about as reliable as Odyssey. Works better when the phone isn't in a case.Very nice setup you have there. Wireless charging point on the desk?
Oh yeah - already went through it. Couldn't handle the wait for a replacement so I just resoldered it and added a few layers of shrink wrap around the bend point to reinforce it.Watch out with the throttle usb connector also. Yea I've seen a lot of people do that on social media/tubes and whatnot. I'd do it myself if I had a good enough desk and a routerYup. I have the Razorback kit from The Mandalorian still sitting sealed from last year's chrimbo. And the Big Bang Theory set unopened as well from the year before that. My daughter would lose her absolute mind anytime I try building stuff without her, although she's almost seven now so can be "trusted to help".Have to say the thing that caught my eye was the Lego.
The pi I use with inara is just a rpi3 hooked up to the internet and running linux, so nice and simple.Brebus would approve!!
(and tell me more… I have a few spare Pis floating about crying out for a job to do!)
How you can keep it in the box is beyond me.I have the Razorback kit from The Mandalorian still sitting sealed from last year's chrimbo

I have several others which might be interesting for project ideas:
There's loads of great ideas on https://shop.pimoroni.com/RPI1 - this was my first and just runs RISCOS. It is painfully slow!
RPI2 - A battery powered digital camera in a lunchbox

RPI2 - security camera overlooking my car
The rest are zero's with wi-fi.
Air quality monitor - using bits from pimoroni.com
Cloud - this reads the weather from the met office then displays it in the form of an animation on a model cloud

- Naturewatch - this is a simple, battery powered daytime trailcam.
- Anilcam - infra red trailcam. I designed and had my own pcb's made for this one.
Anicam has a IR filter and this picture shows the insides - I've mounted it in to birdbox and power it with a usb batterypack.

I did have a pi that ran riscos and elite in my old landy (I sold the car so pi is repurposed!)

- The controller runs from 2 x pre built boards here that plug in to a usb port so no pi is used.

Next projects
I am in the process of designing controller v2 which has so far got an rfid reader and rotary encoder working.
Mp3 player for the car
