State of the Game

Good news everyone! Was able to login fine! Now enjoying my coffee and "muffin" which, i fear is neither very english nor really a muffin by any definition; but the home made mixed berry jam on it is both home made and mixed berries; as i prep the Witch of November to finish a cpl mining before doing some combat missions and maybe heading over the battle of muhdrid (cue dramatic music and map/ flight path running shot).

Thread business: I think athlon asked about mascots for next week yesterday. After checking my notes we have a nomination for (sir?) Christopher Lee on on the floor. I will nominate a tiny tom cruise. Nominations will remain open until they aren't.

That is your own decision... FD are moving the game forward, you don't like the way they are doing so and have chosen to disassociate yourself from it, simply put. Nothing amiss with no longer wishing to play because the game will change, change is disliked by some...
nah, that is not the reason for it - FDev is too slow developing a game worth playing for me - whilst there is a game which has exactly what I want and I can play it now, with old hardware fluently performing - I'm especially impressed about the upgrades in regards to rendering of large bases - I have huge farms and I could see during those months I'm playing NMS, how the rendering of large farms like mine has improved a couple of times even - this is what I expect from a game which is run as a service - frequent updates, bugs fixed in a timely manner and new exciting game content added several times per year - just 2 space games do that properly - EVE and NMS - and I love both.

actually it was more complicated what brought me to this decision - I'm a bioinformatician and as such I follow a youtuber, who is an expert in ocean biology, she has a PhD and her thesis was about micro-plastic and it's relation to microorganisms in the ocean - this is especially a problem in the southern hemisphere and exactly where I live - she played as well subnautica - so I got into that and found, that is the kind of gameplay I really like - and subnautica brought me then to the idea to try NMS and see if that is similar to subnautica - and it is in a way. So I got that the gameplay I want is there and as well in a space game even, just not in ED - and then you added to it and so I left Elite for good.

i nominate twilight characters. any and all characters as they appeared in any of the Twilight movies.

I have EDO on 3 accounts - 1 had the alpha access (a gift from my wife) the other 2 bought after release, so around £100 spent.
I have had hundreds of hours play, all enjoyed, in EDO already, so it suits me.

I've just spent more than that on a handful of sheets of A4 paper to give to businesses that insist that a person cannot be dead without a piece of paper... No entertainment there at all!

When put in perspective, the pleasure from buying an expansion that has issues is far exceeded by the real life requirement of Death Certificates to appease businesses. My wife died, but cannot be officially dead without a piece of expensive paper to businesses I already give money to...
laws can be weird - like my mother-in-law, if she would be financially dependent on my partner, she could stay with us in Australia indefinitely, but she is quite wealthy and so she cannot without applying for a proper visa - what good is in that law?- if she would be poor she could just stay with us for good, but she is filthy rich, so she needs to apply for a visa and most likely invest a couple of millions to become a ciitzen.

Since we have thrown off the cruel shackles of the former dictatorship that gave us Mr. Tumble, might I also suggest Sir Christopher Lee, a true legend.
you get an "aye" from me for Sir Christopher Lee.

btw she seems to be of the same opinion as your name suggests

I know that you are enjoying it - I watched a couple of your videos - but you play it in a much different way than I play - to me there is nothing to explore outside of the bubble, there are just barren rocks with nothing interesting on them, nothing interesting to do there - a huge amount of barren rocks - I expect more than this.

well and I miss agency in ED, I hate to be just an errand runner in Elite - the lack of entrepreneurial stuff is just putting me off - after 700hrs - I really don't know what kept me for that long in Elite, in hinsight I did not even have fun, I just pretended to have had fun playing Elite - well, flying in FA off was actually fun, but well.
