Totally agree - I think you describe it well as sass - I don't think guys can pull off that kind of quality responses to abuse! It's out of order how some people treat the Devs, to their faces or not, and it really shouldn't happen - probably why I enjoy taking the pee out of said morons!
Still think she should give them a week ban, give 'em a chance to think about their life choices. That would be sass
