Statement on planetary tech?

Missed today's supercruise news stream, was any word given about the forthcoming statement on tiling planet features?

I only watched the start, they said they weren't going to have much news for Supercruise News because so much happened last week (Update 8, two patches on Thursday, one this Monday). Just before I closed the window I did however catch them mentioning the FC interiors, they will be not be included in Update 9.

I think they are like Development Updates, so monthly. Last one was October 5th so I'm expecting November's this week or the next.

They mentioned something about using wallpaper instead of tiles. But that could have been to do with the redecoration of Lord Brebus' office bathroom, so it might be irrelevant.


I also apologise for writing this totally random crap in a thread that isn't a moaning one, but I am at a loose end right now....

Makes you wonder if the CMs and stream hosts aren't being limited to a specific script given to them by upper management.

What, CMs are not allow to take time off? Arf has been MIA for a few weeks, so this really should not be a surprise (good to see him back).

Well of course, but I just sounds sensible to me that people returning from leave should be able to catch up first (especially right after updates and a few hotfixes) and not be thrown into the first scheduled live stream right away.

Is it that people don't wany ANY tiling or is it that people want it to be less obvious? Personally I prefer the way it looks and don't want to just be using overlaid noise functions but would like more variation in the mountains etc...

How they do it isn't as important to me as getting rid of things like this:

System is COL 285 SECTOR OK-P A35-1, not far from Jude Navarro's system. You'll probably be able to see it zoomed out on the system map, that's how I noticed it.
