Station orientation wrong

More importantly, the slot doesn't seem to match the orientation that you see in the HUD as you approach in supercruise.
Yes that is what I meant, it now shows it facing along it's flight path around the planet. Which means it's back to guess work. Not sure if it is also the same with the outpost one as well.

What's this update, really? (I stay polite) ton of features doesn't work / buggy, such Livery menu doesn't work (can't customize paints, decals, COVAS etc), COVAS sometimes speak English, sometimes French (my language), engineer pinned blueprints don't work (can't return, I must disconnect/reconnect), and surely other nice surprises....

isn't "the right way" relative in space? you might think it's not facing correctly, but Joe Commander thinks there's nothing wrong with the slot orientation. Who's wrong, who's right and who cares?

Right.

The hologram of the station is not a correct representation of the station's orientation. Lining up with the slot dead ahead drops you out facing the side of the station.

This orientation issue already exists in previous April release (prior, I don't know), but now, it's worse.

It is correct, but at an angle. If you look at the neutral orientation of your ship hologram, and mirror that to the left, that's the orientation the station needs to be for you to arrive correctly aligned. Or at least it was until yesterday! It was quite hard to judge correctly, but you could usually get it roughly right. But as of yesterday, you can be 90 degrees off.

And until Frontier fix this, I guess it's time to dig this image up, this is how stations are (virtually always) oriented:

Meaning if you come in from inside their orbit around the planet, you will consistently be only 45° off.

Notwithstanding what some are saying in this thread - this is new. Previously you could line up the slot while in SC. Yes, I know it is 3D and angled and all that stuff. I know how it works and I know how a station is aligned. It wasn't perfect - you could be a few degrees out due to orientation etc, but you could get it close. Now it is WAY out. Line up the slot, taking into account orientation, angle of approach, etc, etc, and when you pop out the slot is 90 degrees out. Or thereabouts.

So I went and had a look, only the schematic has the wrong orientation, the stations themselves are fine.
But that is the point. When in SC you could previously line up using the schematic. Now you can't. Of course you can still do an approach exercise using geometry to get it right on but sometimes you didn't need to do that because your approach just happened to be near enough and so you could line up using the schematic. Now you can't because - as you say - the schematic is wrong. That is the point of the thread I believe.

yes

Strange, it was not present for me before. Till yersteday the hud image was perfectly representing the station orientation.
Unfortunately I never done screen captures from previous release. However, I've noticed a difference between station aspect (hologram) and real - and wasn't problematic. But September release cause a great (signifiant) difference.
