Station security scan you and with out warning kills you

I don't know if this is a bug or part of the game, but it is getting really frustrating being kill as soon as I get scanned by the security if I have a passanger(s) on board and it the mission don't state to adviod getting scanned or you will be killed on sight. Two times this happen and now I'm down 11 million credits each time this happens. So if frontier is looking at this plz change it or atleast give a warning in the HUD when entering the system, give the people who have been effected by this a chance to go silent running or leave the system.

Know that i seen that a passenger state as a high value target, but it did't say it before, maybe I have over read it when accepting the mission.

I got blasted earlier as well in my not so stealthy or quick Conda. It does warn you on the mission that your passenger will be wanted in some systems. Did a similar mission after with my Asp smuggler on silent running without any hiccups though.

If the mission description says that the passenger "may be wanted in other systems" then you mustn't take that mission because it's guaranteed the passenger will be wanted at the target destination. This applies to "criminal mastermind" and "rebel leader" passengers.

I had one where there was no warning of criminality when taking the mission. Just after taking it I got a mission update telling me that one of them might be wanted in some systems. I wasn't out of the slot of the station where I'd picked them up before getting scanned and was spacedust about five seconds later. I have reservations about 2.2!

What ships are we using for these missions? I bet nobody is using Cobras or Couriers...

I been using my conda for these missions and any other jobs I can find

I wouldn't use an Anaconda, personally.

Far too slow. You need something fast for these VIPs. I'm gonna' try one such mission in my Cobra Mk III next time I log on.

But the Anaconda is far too slow, really.

Pretty much bro.

Never mind the other 50 innocent passengers aboard...

You don't know what that person was wanted for, their death may be worth the cost.

Yeah the scAnnie is good at a lot of things, but avoiding scans ain't one of them. I'm gonna try this passenger smuggling thing in my orca, see if that works (if I can prise myself away from skyrim).

Given that smuggling illegal goods provides a hud warning and a scan results in a fine, but smuggling illegal passengers gives no hud warning and a scan results in instant death, I think it's fair to say there's been a design oversight here. Will get fixed I'm sure. Until then, safe travels.

Oh and general smuggling tip , the trick to avoiding scans isn't silent running or any fancy tricks, it's simply about pelting it up to the slot quicksmart, & through it before anyone's noticed you. When you drop down, circle round the station and line up with the slot before approaching the station, not after, and you should be fine, as long as your ship has a half-reasonable amount of pace.

Ditto. Insta-killed by a station for carrying a wanted passenger when there was no warning whatsoever, anywhere, that he was wanted.

My assumption is that this must be a bug. If it isn't then it is the most ludicrous gameplay mechanic in the history of this game.

While I can probably make more in payments to offset the rebuy costs of being randomly kaboomed, there is a real feeling of failure and loss when your ship is destroyed, so no more passengers for me until this is fixed or removed.

And no more ship launched fighters until the hideous launch lag is fixed.

It wouldn't make any difference if you were using an Eagle with an engineered drive.

The sequence is scan, "criminal detected", pew pew, kaboom, in about a second and a half.

yes, blowing up a ship seems a bit much for one wanted passenger, especially if you are docking. Arresting the ship might be an option at a station surely?

Isn't that what makes it a bug, rather than normal gameplay?
Unless they are wanted they wouldn't fire on you.

This happened to me twice too costing about 16 million in rebuy costs. Already submitted a ticket as Frontier seem to acknowledge it is not working as intended. Incidentally you can get a similar response for accidentally driving in a launch pad in a planetary base as I found out..400 credit fine then blew up my srv and then when i tried to leave the base in my ship this was also insta killed. Being killed twice for loitering on one occasion is a harsh sentence even for the future.

HVT's (High Value Target) and Criminal passengers missions are basically smuggling missions.

As a smuggler my self, i don't really have issues with it.. but, please, dont use a Beluga, Cutter, or Anaconda for them.

Asp Scout, Corbra, AspX, Dropship, DBS, are really good smuggling ships.
