Stealth wanted passengers

Took a contract to transport a passenger to Stebbins Port in HIP 16540. Made very sure passenger was not wanted as I'm well aware of the ridiculous insta-kill mechanic for carrying wanted passengers.

Come in to land at the port and the ship just bounces off the pad. Tried manual and docking computer. Ship just bounces off the pad (yes, I was the right way round and it was the right pad). After 30 seconds or so of this, I get scanned and insta-killed for carrying illegal passengers.

Not sure if passengers who are wanted, but don't show as such when they book are a thing, so this may be something to be very aware of when taking bookings.

Raised a ticket, primarily for the bouncy pad thing (should have been safely landed long before I was scanned), but also in case the hidden wanted status of passengers is also legitimate.

If it is my, days carrying passengers is over. Way too risky.

As far as bouncing off of the pad... Were you in a Beluga? What I've found with the Beluga is you need to bring your nose up a bit, it can be easy to seemingly be straight enough to lock in, but really your rear is up to high. I've checked this with the debug cam.

Shouldn't the mission boars verify if a passenger is wanted?

That was my understanding, but the two I had on board were definitely not flagged as wanted. Others have reported this issue on both XBox and PC versions.

I would suggest that, until we get an answer to this, all passengers should be treated as potential insta-kill bait.

Could be wanted in the destination system but not in the origin system and thus not show up initially. Like how the player can be wanted but it wont show unless they're in that system or scanned with a KWS.

The game rules never seem to change regardless of it being player or AI. Seems a bit of a design oversight though given you have zero chance of getting away if scanned near a station now. With many players not even recognising why they were suddenly blown out of the sky.

But the problem is that CMDRs have no way of knowing that the passenger they are transporting is wanted until they are scanned when arriving or departing a station. If that happens they are dead.

At least with illegal goods you get an "illicit cargo" warning when you fly into a system and a big red "wanted" indicator when you fly into a system where you yourself are wanted, so you know that a scan by a station means a trip to the rebuy screen.

With passenger missions there is no way of knowing that a scan will mean insta-death.

Therefore the sensible idea is to assume any passenger could be wanted and any scan could be your last.

Ironically, transporting passengers only to Anarchy systems is the only safe option.

What's this, a sensible complaint thread that doesn't wine, moan, or throw a hissy? I'll be keeping my eyes on you op, you don't belong here, lol.
Honestly I agree though, a notification on the UI like the illegal cargo one would be ideal upon arrival.

Yes I've learned this lesson the hard way.

I enter a system, look at my status indiciator on the right. Ahh the passengers must not be wanted in this system. (it does say the MAY be wanted in SOME systems). So I fly on towards the station blissfully unaware.

Ship scan... and boom within a fraction of a second. This happened twice with two very costly Python rebuys, I now only take non wanted passengers while I get used to it. Pretty big oversight.
