Thanks guys from those of us who use Steam - makes things much easier.

To all the whiners out there - if you don't have anything positive to say then don't say anything.

I use steam, pretty much for every other game i own, which is a lot.

I still don't see any benefit at all to wasting time and money making this happen.

The reason people are saying negative things is because of all the negativity that surrounded FD not providing steam keys in the first place. It was a complete joke and in my honest opinion, quite pathetic. If someone can enlighten me as to some overwhelming reason why having a steam key for this particular game is vastly beneficial, then please feel free to share the wealth. So far i have heard nothing of the sort.

You reap what you sow, so yes i will make negative comments on this farcical situation that has now thankfully been resolved, no doubt at some cost to FD and thus, the development funding of this game.

Thank you FD!

By any chance are you the same Panicbutton from the 228th, MechWarrior?

Five quid says we don't see a single apology from those who were bashing FDev instead of just voicing their opinion that keys should be out in a respectful manner.

Oh, and to everyone who decided to "Boycott" FDev until they gave a key, how are you enjoying missing out on those Community goals and such? Since this whole thing started, I've graduated straight from Vulture to Python. Enjoy your pointless missed time, I'm sure they missed your $0 subscription these weeks.

I told you so, you know who you are.

There are advantages, for people who've been using Steam for a long time and want all their games in a single platform (might not be your cup of tea but there are lots of gamers out there) keeping all your game or launchers up to date is easier, the most experienced pilots in the game are earlier backers (giving them a Steam key means they can write great tutorials and guides which will create more quality players) that in turn links up the communities much better. There are probably a ton more little perks like writing reviews, seeing which of your friends on your list has the game for some co-op, screenshot/video uploading and sharing on Steam so all your pals can see, possible trading cards and achievements (not my cup of tea but i won't knock other folk for it). If these aren't reasons enough for you then i think your mind was already set.

The square root of naff all...

Just a bunch of babies crying like three year old's, because mummy didn't by them a sweetie.

I wish posts like this were bannable.

People who were demanding to be given Steam keys are dumb and people moaning about Steam keys being given are equally dumb. Do you really have nothing better to do?

I'll be making use of my Steam key. I would've got on fine without it, but it is a convenience - one I was neither guaranteed nor led to expect. Frontier was very gracious in doing this.

I'm not going to go into the list of conveniences Steam provides because it's been done multiple times in this thread (see above, for example), but it's enough to be worth redeeming my key.

Oh oh, thanks a bunch FD! I'll be able to play the game on my 3D TV finally without moving my huge desktop computer! :) I tested the streaming solution included in Steam ant it worked fine without noticeable lag even for very demanding games (like the last Tomb Raider). It's a great feature! :) For those who don't know: you can install Steam on a weak computer (for me an old laptop) and without installing the game on it you'll be able to run it by clicking on "Stream" (instead of Play) on the laptop, both computers need to be waiting in Steam. Controller are well managed on remote side. In my case I connect the old laptop on my TV and the game run on the desktop in another room and appear on my TV and I can play in my Sofa. Desktop is wired connected to my internet box and laptop is running through wifi. You can reduces lag of course by only using wired configuration but as I said it wasn't noticeable with games I played like this. I hope it will work with ED! :)

Thanks a lot. I'd prefer to have my games in the steam library, too, because the server of steam are much better for downloading my games, the auto update function is awesome and nearly perfect and the overall overview and overlay is very useful.

Still don't see the point of using stem when you can just NOT use it and play the game. That seems like a win to me. But it looks like this will make a lot of people happy so gg devs!

You guys are awesome! Thank you! I bought my game from your site, it will just be nice to have it integrated with Steam. :D!!! Coming back after a month break. Can't wait, almost done downloading.

Exactly :D

Thank you, Frontier! So happy to see this. I'm looking forward to moving my install across to Steam. Positive reviews will be forthcoming shortly after, naturally.

Now, one question... does SteamVR work with ED, or is that something we'll have to wait on?

See what happens when you give people what they want Frontier - they just ask for more
