Hey everyone. If this has been asked, please let me know where.
I bought Elite Dangerous from the frontier store before it was available on Steam. Played it for awhile then uninstalled it. I am thinking of installing it again and was wondering, what is better. The installer from frontier, or through Steam? Also, is there a way to transfer everything into steam without paying for the game again? Thanks everyone.

My question to you would be: "What do you think Steam brings to E.D., that frontier isn't providing?" I don't know why you'd willingly add steam into the mix unless you were struggling to get the files downloaded from frontierstore or something. I'm actually going to go the other way, because TIL if you own a steam E.D. account, you can download a non-steam launcher from Frontier. Glod bless 'em!

You don't need to transfer anything, it's all the same account.

I don't use Steam for E D and after Steam's E D launcher and update issues this week I think many other people won't any more too.

I use the ED launcher for playing in VR too. Never saw the need to add it to my Oculus library. It just works.
