Steam Removing "Off Topic" Review Scores

YouTube let's plays where you can actually see a game being played are my preferred 'review'. There are some entertaining content creators who make informative reviews, too, but you need to see a game being played to really judge it.

I follow a few Lets Players that have similar tastes to mine, and generally look at them, or other Let’s Plays, before buying. It’s not perfect, one of my favorite Let’s Players had a meltdown due to being “wrong genre savvy,” but I’ve bought, or avoided, far more games due to watching a Let’s Play, than any reviews.

I go further I turn the sound off so all I get is gameplay without opinion.

I used to use Angry Joes reviews as if he likes something generally so do I, but he had a proper non-comedy four letter meltdown at some kid via open mike in one of his reviews and I decided he's either a Richard or pushing the angry envelope too far.

I’m ok with this, if a review is factual and describe the pro and cons it should stay if not we don’t need it.

The recent case of Metro Exodus springs to mind [yesnod]

I won't lie. I changed every game title/dlc I own under the Bethesda umbrella to a negative review after creation club release. I feared at the time that Bethesda was moving towards EA style mico transations and game development. Price tagging mods and the community that has not only fixed and improved their games but continued to breath life into them for years.

Years later we got the ever burning dumpster fire that is fallout 76.

I have to like listening to the voice of the person playing, otherwise I can't watch a Let's Play.
