Still, after all this time...

The Mamba's landing gear still does not work.

This bug was reported in the Beta this ship was launched. But its still here. The landing gear does not work, makes no sound of being working as with all the other ships.
Not gonna comment on the waste of time that was to rework all the keybinds, which are not few mind you.
Or all the other bugs that come out with every update. I can take those on a stride, part of the course.

But this is something from months ago, sadly this annoyed me and I should have waited to be less so before commenting, but I couldn't.
Gonna leave a bug report. For whatever's worth.

Game breaking, I tell you. GAME BREAKING. ;)

Can I haz your Mamba stuff?
Oh crap, you do the correct thing and post a bug report instead of rage-quitting (y)
As you were then...

The sole reason I didn't purchase a paintjob for this ship. It (iridescent dusk iirc) was in my shopping basket already, but then I remembered this issue from the beta, quickly had a go trying the ship in-game and lo and behold it's still there (took me all but a couple of minutes to confirm).

Am also pretty sure there were several bug reports raised during the beta for this, which unfortunately convinced me not to bother with those anymore.

Shame all round really...

I love the Mamba. You've no idea how good that cockpit and view is until you've tried it in VR. Wonderful. My purple iridescent paintjob glows along the side ... thingys ... as the light crosses them.

Landing gear? Oh yeah, the animation is still broken. But since I can't see it, and it reverts to closed once you jump (I believe), I don't care.

Shame indeed. I bought that paint, and I've been loving the ship in all the months since the Mamba first appeared, and there's not a thing wrong with it that makes a single difference.

I use the external camera quite extensively, and I have this OCD of retracting the landing gear straight after undocking, so it's an issue for me big enough to put me off flying it, let alone buying a paintjob for it.

Glad you enjoy it though. I will give it a proper chance once/if they fix it.

Edit - and yes I think you're right it sorts itself out after the first jump. Still don't like that they left such a simple issue in the game for such a long time. Could be an easy win fixing that, surely.

I'm sure it's an easy fix but probably isn't at the top of the priority list. That's all it will be.

I mean, afaik the DBS still has the DBX cockpit. Like actually the wrong cockpit. Now that's a non trivial thing for those who use the DBS.

That's pretty tame OP! You didn't declare you are going to quit playing the game and have uninstalled it from your hard drive, then burned your hard drive, then sent the ashes of the hard drive to Braben, and finally, the most damning, leaving a negative Steam review!!!

A rating that equally applies to FDev's QA department.

Let's face it, a new ship with simple graphical bugs six months after release IS pretty lousy.
I don't really like posting negatively - but considering how relatively minor in scope this update was, the sheer number of new issues (both technical and gameplay wise) introduced in April on top of the vast issues of already reported bugs such as this one, which in itself is minor, I think this update has really pushed me over the edge.

I love this game, I haven't spent more time on any other game in my 30+ years of playing computer- and video games, I think I will burn out any minute now but it doesn't happen. I think (and sometimes even dream!) about Elite when I don't play it.

What's really done it for me is the (particularly since 3.3 - before it was rock solid all round for me) constant stability and framerate issues, some of which can be addressed with workarounds to some extent but not completely. And last night I logged in for an hour or so, just to mess around a bit, and I can't even restock ammo in any of my ships now. I logged off feeling deflated.

Who knows, maybe this is finally the point where a break from the game might be in order. But I don't really want to, I want to keep enjoying the game the way I did prior to April 23rd.

Sorry for moan dumping into this thread.

If you haven't yet, buy and play Subnautica. It'll help you quit ED and not look back (at least until you finish it, which I haven't yet). NO SPOILERS PLEASE!

Though the irony I must confess is Subnautica is the second most buggy game on my PS4 after ED, but even so it's still WAY better quality-wise, and a heck-ton of fun :D

I had it on my Steam wishlist for a while as I heard many good things about it - but the mention of bugs/technical issues in the review sections put me off slightly (probably overstated but who knows). I'm also not sure how similar it is to NMS - they sort of look similar but didn't spend too much time reading up on Subnautica for fear of spoilers:)

I don't really want to quit Elite, I think it can coexist with other games in my backlog (like, 90% Elite 10% the rest lol). But I find the experience of playing Elite at this very moment very unsatisfying and at times downright frustrating, as more often now than not (and this used to be the other way around for me) things that are supposed to just "work", don't.

It's a fantastic game, and not as buggy as Elite. I "only" have 300 hours in it compared to Elite's 2800, but yet it is great and soon I'll take another dive (pun intended)

It's only about 20 Euros or so for the base game... how's the DLC in case you already have it? I'll very likely end up buying it eventually.

Got subnautica, but really can't get that into it. Its pretty, it has some nice features and mechanics, but i think i gorged myself to death on survival games with Ark and just can't face them any more.

I put it into create mode after my initial play, just to mess around, but not enough there to make creative mode a compelling game for me either.

NMS is still on my list of games i'd like to play one day as well.... but again, not sure i can face survival mode, and creative will get old quickly i think.
