Error good idea with fcs , but I was under the impression us deep explorers where going to get the odd galactic road chef to pull into and just chill and sell our merchandise . For the life of me I cannot see any icons in for instance odins hold at all ! What gives .

The Fleet Carriers aren't going to appear on the galactic map presumably because they will keep changing location. There are FCs stationed around Colonia and Sag A*. One at least has reached Beagle's Point. And many others I expect will spread themselves out to particular places. When I get my carrier later in the year I intend to take it out to one of the sides of the galaxy to explore and for fellow explorers to "chiil". There has been a lot of talk about having somewhere where FC owners can post their "schedule" so other commanders can get lifts or repairs etc. For the moment the only way in game of knowing where they, as far as I know, is if you jump into a system with a FC.
How silly why then is the option to show fleet carriers on galaxy map ??? Cannot believe the issue was not addressed in the beta ...
Is it an X-box issue - I can see them using the galmap filter from a long way away:
I was using a filter today that showed carriers on galaxy map and was using it to find carriers to taxi on to mining spot no problem. It shows carriers as a yellow dot in a system even if there is only one in that system. Doesn't say specifics of that carrier though unless you go there.
I've been looking but cannot see them even tried unselecting all star types in galaxy map and just allowed fleet carriers ... nothing . Worrying really since I'm an explorer and it would be kewl to find the odd road chef .
Just logged on and tried to find fleet carriers and they are appearing in my galaxy map around Colonia and at Sag A* where I know I've seen them. My mistake. That's two now... not having a good day.
Not sure why it's not working for the OP. Possibley check other search filters, something might be clashing? You do have to zoom right in to see them. It's a big galaxy and only a certain amount of FCs. You still are kind of looking for a needle in a haystack even with the filter.

It helps if you filter out systems that do not have one and then zoom out of galaxy a bit.
There are two filters in the galaxy map for FC in different sections,
One for "your" carrier only showing its current location and its JUMP location set if set on the same setting... this is on the same section as "Your" bookmarks and "your" engineers you unlocked. and "your" other content this is not to show "Other" peoples content this setting only applies to your owned carrier if you don't own one you turn it OFF..
There is a SECOND filter specifically called "Carriers" in another section, this is a filter to Show Systems with other peoples carriers in them...
If you have been to that system you can open the system map.. and look at the carriers if you have not been to the system you can not open the Systems map...
The Yellow dots to high light the systems is separate from the option to turn your FC location and jump location on/off...
4th bar at the top of galaxy map...not 5th .. middle section high lighted next... then click the Filters option and at the very bottom after trade data is "carriers" you are required to be at the Correct height in the galaxy plane is required...
If your at the wrong Zoom level Nothing will show...
