Still getting discomfort from territory decay in update 5

I haven’t noticed much improvement to this issue from the changes in this update. Herbivores are still getting discomfort from territory decay more than they were before the changes in update 4. Just now my stygimolochs wandered away from their food source and their comfort dropped from 100% to below 80%.

The update also doesn’t seem to have fixed discomfort from environmental needs (forest, open space, not food) decaying. Sauropods and ankylosaurs are still having issues maintaining territory because they move and add territory so slowly, as discussed here:

My ankylosaurs still don’t have enough forest, even though there’s definitely enough forest in the enclosure for them to hit 100% comfort.

I think if the territory provides environmental needs and the dinosaur is close to the minimum requirement for that need, when the timer runs out for the territory, it should refresh the duration instead of decay. I don’t think dinos should abandon territory that satisfies their needs and become uncomfortable for no reason.

Same! I spent a lot of time making the perfect territory for my dinosaurs but they always walk away after I unpause the game and all my work is wasted. I haven't played much after the last 2 updates because of this.

Yes I've experienced this as well, both with forest and food. You can see a similar issue I had here where Moros would change its territory to avoid the MANY bodies of water in the enclosure. I've tried their recommendations from that thread, and they've so far helped. But this doesn't fix the issue at large, where as you say, many herbivores also do this, and the suggestion given in aforementioned thread wouldn't necessarily work here.

It's especially frustrating with sauropods, who already require a massive enclosure and forest (even when humble). This leaves less room for other diverse feeding needs like ground nut, fruit, etc. that don't provide the common ground leaf. So even though you may have an enclosure that provides for all dinos when they're originally placed, over time somebody always complains... or dies of starvation when you're not looking.

opens game
sees territory decay is still broken

In all seriousness, I really hope a fix to territory decay causing discomfort is planned / will release in a future update because making enclosures to meet dino needs (the core gameplay) is not fun if they just leave and don’t have their needs met.

Update 5 band-aided the problem for sea creatures by having feeders outside the territory count for comfort but this still is a massive problem especially for herbivores. Slow herbivores never have their needs met because they expand territory slower than the decay rate. Small herbivores move their territories to areas that don’t satisfy their needs and then get sick constantly. Carnivores still occasionally lose their food source. Please fix this.

Make territory refresh instead of decay if it provides environmental needs and the dinosaur is close to the minimum requirement for that need.
