Horizons Still not balanced game play!

Another 2 ships lost this morning, this is not nice
the missions available DO NOT SUPPORT THE CREDITS REQUIRED to play this game.

fix the Balance!

really is utterly rubbish, no way anyone can get in front!
always some flicking Python or worse wiping me out.

these updates have been a real turn off with Elite, what on earth were you thinking!
has taken days of play for me to get anywhere, all wiped out in less than 4 hours.

You haven't given much to go on, what ship were you flying, what was the loadout, what method did you use to escape, did you keep pips in shields during each attack, what rank mission did you take before the attacks?

The AI has been majorly tamed over the past 2 day's , it's a lot safer for new players, that doesn't change the fact that you need to take the correct steps to ensure you survive.

I would like to be wrong, but I fear that with the update, not all problems have been solved...

I visited a Hres with my full A rated Fer de Lance. I continue to record an unreal turn ratio from ships that should be much less maneuverable than mine (Anaconda and Imperial Cliper), although I give 4 pips to engine and in some cases aid the turn with vertical thrusters.
They turn as if they would have been Federal Assault Ship. We continued to spin around each other and no one could put the opponent in the gun sight reticule.
I would expect such a thing if I attacked a Vulture or an Eagle. I met these small ships and haven't had any problems. Less maneuverable ships, instead, like Pythons, Anaconda and Clipper, had frightening turn ratio.

my bad, ASP A Rated.
this morning was interdicted by a gunship, I was carrying 16 evacuation shelters. Submitted to interdiction, checked out who, crapped myself then tried to run, 4 mins later, buy new ship with insurance.

same ASP, now on a 70000cr run to deliver liquor.
interdicted by a Viper that I finished off but was rammed by him prior to his departure.
so hull down to 39%, head to the station to finish the mission. 3 times interdicted by same Python.
first two times i got away, 3rd time, well that was ship #2 gone.

when running I use 4 pips on engines, 2 on systems.
when combat 4 on weapons, 2 on system.

im not running slaves or weapons or classified data.
since these pseudo upgrades, it is not an easy task to make enough credits to cover my insurance.
so effectively I'm going backwards, now retreated to Lave.

hopefully safer areas.
now do 15000cr runs, I should be able to buy my Python again in another 2 years.
or say cluck this, Back to BF4 I go.

The AI has not been tamed. The developers have stated they have kept the AI the same but have fixed issues where NPC equipment was behaving in an OP manner due to bugs which they hope to have fixed. The question is whether NPCs are still 'cheating' in the sense that their equipment is functioning at a higher level than they should.

You should run with 4 pips in system if you are getting battered. Try high wake jumping too. The Asp has OK speed and if fitted right will do 390m/s. Lay chaff via a hot button so the weapons don't deploy and have point defence fitted as well.

I've not lost a ship since 2.1 dropped.

Hot button? Please tell more! Is it possible to drop mines and chaff without deploying weapons which prevents FSD charging?

The question is whether NPCs are still 'cheating' in the sense that their equipment is functioning at a higher level than they should.

I think the problem is this: AI takes advantage of some potential as the turn ratio at such levels, that you could really talk about "cheating".
It's a pity, because the increase of AI made the game much more interesting...

You can certainly map chaff to a keyboard button pin your setup - dunno about setting mines to discharge from a button though as that would have the effect of deploying weapons that prevent FSD charging.

Am fully aware of the devs post, the AI has most defintely been tamed, high rank ship spawning in SC is virtually non existent, you now have to purposely go looking for them or pick missions that are high ranked. The game is slipping back to 2.0 standards. Cmdr's need to understand the importance of keeping 4 pips in SYS unless they are in complete control of the situation.

@Julesk_1972 - As already mentioned, you have to run with 4 pips in sys, 2 in engines.

fix the Balance!

...
In front of what?
Or who? Anyone?
So, you're asking FD to fix the 'balance' of ED so you can be in front?
Failure is not an option - it will occur.
Frustration with ED is not an option - it will occur.
:)

They presumably had FA turned off. Did you also have FA turned off?

Was just going to say that too.

I always flick FA off when turning trying to fight with anyone, then flick it back on when in the position I want.
Before I did this I had a hard time getting away or fighting anyone, but now it's much easier.

During the period in which we continued to spin around each other, NPC didn't disabled FA.
Our paths were perfectly circular, and if someone had disabled the flight assists, would have leave for the tangent.

crapola....missions do not pay enough? I am getting one or two million for hauling a few tonnes of manure.
but....I thought you were not doing missions?
