Still not possible to switch ships if the cargo is too much for the new ship?

I'm sorry, I've been away for 1 year... did somebody address this issue?
I can't switch from my Anaconda full of engineers commodities to my Cobra to do smaller missions, because I can't brig the Conda's cargo in the Cobra (LOL). Seriously we still have this problem? Please tell me a solution came out in the last year!
Thank you.

While commodity storage would be ace, I think the lowest impact method for fixing this glaring issue would be to allow you to switch ships to one with insufficient cargo space so that you can outfit it appropriately but then present you with the sell commodity screen if you try to launch with too much cargo.

If the station is on lockdown or does not deal in commodities, you have to discard some until you are below the capacity.

I'm not a developer for FDEV, so what would I know about their code base. Still, the above solution doesn't seem like rocket science.

This is so bad. Still no commodity storage, neither the option to leave the cargo onboard. Maybe I'll quit for another year or definitely throw this game in the drain.

There is no plausible reason why ships should not each have their own storage. Multistorage has been a thing in games since the 90s.

I guess they don't implement it because its probably somwhere at the lowest bottom of the priority list since theres currently no reason and no point in storing stuff, just stop hoarding.

no reason, no point? You can't swap from a big to a small or medium ship! Is this no point? It's YEARS we have this problem!

And if you don't want to sell the cargo at that station then what? There's no good reason why someone shouldn't be able to leave a ship full or half full to hop in another ship and run some missions or something if they want to.

Could use it to exploit BGS and missions, can store cargo in station you are working on until right mission shows up ;)
Sure there are plenty of others too!

It's not a 'problem', it's an intentional design decision, which they explained several times.

The game hasn't even been out 3 full years yet, so the faux drama is a little over the top.

Maybe because it's not actually a 'problem'? What problem do you think this will solve? Why can't you dump or sell the cargo beforehand? What benefit will storing cargo provide you?

Seriously, if I was developing this game I would have little sympathy for this request, and even less for prima donnas who threaten to up and leave just because Frontier won't change the game to suit 1 person.

It is one of many things which, "logically", somebody in 3303 should be able to do, but which the game had been deliberately designed to not support, due to fear of abuse. Others being:
- Transferring credits between players.
- Physically transporting other players in your ship (as opposed to multicrew telepresence).
- Hiring NPC crew to fly the ships you own but are not currently using.
- Purchasing space stations.
- Blowing up the Voyager space probes.
- Having the ability to accelerate and keep on accelerating, rather than hitting a ludicrously low "maximum speed".

This is opposed to the things which "logically" we should be able to do, but they simply haven't (yet) programmed in the ability to do. Things like:
- Get up out of the chair and walk around the ship.
- Get out of the ship and walk around on planets and space stations.
- Land on planets with atmospheres.
- Look at the galaxy map and be able to tell which systems have Untagged planets in them.

And what do you do if your ship is full of cargo but there isn't a Black Market and the station doesn't buy what is in your hold - you go to another station!

I suspect way back when the reason was simple, they didn't want players hoarding rare or difficult to obtain goods then flooding the market.
