Had an interesting game this morning.
I was bounty hunting in a HAZRES with my new Federal Assault Ship (not fully kitted out yet, so only E grade life support). Anyway, I'd made about a million in bounties and spotted a Wing - 1 Viper and 1 Vulture. I made short work of the Viper and then started attacking the Vulture. Then something a bit strange happened. He had only a few percent hull left and I was directly behind him, but he managed to drop my shields. The funny thing was, he didn't actually seem to be firing anything! This was either a bug, or it is possible that he had some kind of turret cannon. Anyway, the next thing I knew my canopy had blown out.
With hindsight maybe I should have hyperspaced to a different system, but even though the nearest station was 3000 Ls away, I thought I would have time. As I dropped into the station instance, I had about 18 seconds left and knew it was going to be tight - there was no alternative but to boost at the slot in a do or die attempt. Unfortunately, I drifted at the last second (literally!) and got caught on the toast rack. One second later and I died.
Oh well, it was entertaining
