Stowed Reloading, has anybody tried them?

So, stowed reading, has anyone tried it?

For those that do not know what this is, it is an engineering mod for handheld weapons offered by Fit Fowler and Uma Laszlo that, quote, "Automatically reloads the weapon when stowed."

For those who have tried it, would you recommend it for AR-50, TK Aphelion hybrid loadout? Does it reload to the magazine with even just a second of stowage? Or does the amount of rounds reloaded when stowed correlated to the time stowed?

In short, how does it work in practice?

Thanks! :)

I bought a Grade 3 Plasma rifle that came with the stored reload. It's a good mod best used with the Dominator suit where you have 2 Primary weapons. Use one weapon until it's empty then swap to your other Primary and when it's empty and you go back to your first Primary weapon it's reloaded. You save time and in theory can lay down higher DPS. The pro Doom players use that tactic all the time.

Do you have to use it until it's empty for it to reload? Or does it reload it even when the magazine is not empty? How about rapidly switching between the 2 primaries?

Also, thanks for the info! :)

I have it but man it was a pain in the ace to damage my reputation enough with sirius to unlock this. In short its a great choice and here is why,
If I am using an AR loadout and dominator suit to drop someone I use the beam rifle to strip their shields then I can use the kinetic rifle to drop them. this is great for large scale fights as i can quickly engage one target after another,

the gun does not need to be empty it will top up the ammo to maximum even if their is ammo left in the magazine.

Perfect! Exactly what I'm going to use it for, thanks! :)

This is what I'm dreading. I've been Allied with them since before Engineering and incorporated them into my squadrons back story. At least the upgrade is worth it just really dislike this type of requirement .
Thankfully its only a requirement, once you get the requirement you can go back to being friendly with them and the engineer will still be unlocked and availible. Yes.... i found it quite annoying too.

Good to know you don't have to maintain unfriendly - I was pretty sure that would be the case, but was a little worried maybe it'd be like a power play thing where you could only interact with the engineer if you were unfriendly with sirius.

I modded my laser pistol and my ar50 both with stowed reload, but I noticed, that sometimes while quickly swapping the guns, the effect does not kick in.
After a few quick tests I can say, that the gun has to be stowed for min. of 5 seconds to get rearmed. If you draw your gun earlier than that, you're left with the amount of shots as when you stowed it before.

and a tip to become unfriendly with sirius...
step 1: fly to a station, were sirius co. is present. sit in your cockpit and accept all missions given to you from sirius co.
step 2: abord all missions. sirius becomes angry with you...
step 3: repeat. the mission board will be refrehed all 10min.

You can do this also with the on foot missions, but then you have to pay 100k for each aborded mission. Only feasible with restore missions to farm power regulators.

The effect is the same time as your normal reload speed.

So how long it'd take your sniper to reload is how long you need your sniper stowed before it reloads.

Apparently fast reload affects this

It does seem like a really strange requirement.

Try combining it with weapon handling and a dominator suit. With 2 weapons(TK Aphelion and Karma AR-50) with these, you can swap between them and really never stop gunning people down. You can be extremely aggressive with just those 2 and I can tell you its awesome even early.

Yes, they are good, it reloads while unequipped at the speed it would if you had hit reload.

So, shoot laser weapon, swap to kinetic, once you killed the guy, your laser weapon is probably reloaded, then once the shields on the next guy are down, kinetic is probably ready.

That's basically how it works. With weapon handling you can do it very quickly for basically 95% damage uptime.
