Good evening Commander, I hope this message reaches you well.
To be honest with you, I've been doing bad things. Some well known engineers in the area won't do business with you unless you have a high enough reputation with their faction, so I've been hanging around res sites and nav beacons using a KWS and bounty hunting anything worth more than 100 credits. However, I come across all manner of cargo freighters and miners along the way... My favorite commodity to steal is that sweet Tritium baby!! Stuff is worth gold out here. Don't worry friend, I always bring along a repair limpet and don't leave my customers to a very cold death.
Well, sometime yesterday I came upon a suspicious Type 6 that went cold and boosted away the moment I attempted a standard scan. I chased him down naturally, hit him with a KWS and checked his cargo hold, too.
Cargo Manifest:
-Trinkets of Hidden Fortune (around 60)
-H.E. Suits (the rest)
I had never seen these Trinkets before and was naturally quite interested, so I gave him a friendly bump. Woops, my bad pilot. Knocked out his shield and dropped his hull to around half. I sent a repair limpet to him and he decided to trigger his FSD and bounce. To my pleasure, he went on over to a nearby anarchy system and I gave chase. Upon arrival to the star, the target appeared on my scanners moving at a low rate of speed very close the star, then he dropped out of supercruise. I honed in on his low wake and set my throttle down, when it was immediately apparent he dropped a little too close to the star. I tried my best getting close to him, unafraid of taking a bit of heat damage if only I could chase him to a better location. However, at the closest point to his drop when my FSD would force me out i was still at least .25 ls from his location. By my estimation the pilot literally killed himself on the surface of the star.
Why were these commodities so valuable, that the man would scuttle just because they'd been scanned?? Since then I've searched and searched and can't find hardly any record of them being sold or produced anywhere. Anyways commander, I'll keep searching anyway.
