I took a look at this, and I can confirm an odd Galaxy Map sound:
- The sound only appears after scanning Josie Rosa with the data scanner.
- It does not appear before scanning Josie Rosa.
- It does not appear outside the instance.
- It does not appear outside the system.
Further, I found that in the galaxy map, if you align your camera to the X-Z plane, you can hear an additional signal that sounds like a few different higher pitched tones. The direction you look in the plane doesn't seem to matter, but looking up or down will cause the extra tones to fade. The location of your cursor doesn't matter, you can hear the signal with your cursor anywhere in the galaxy. It is easier to hear if you move your cursor off of the system itself (removing the star noise). I jumped to some nearby systems, including a listening post, and none of them had anything like this.
I used the spectral analyzer on my phone, and found that this additional signal seems to have some structure.
- Two sections of structure around 750 Hz and 1500 Hz.
- Structures that look like bars.
- Structures that look like dots - these have audible pitch variation and there seem to be 3 or 4 pitch levels.
I tried to reproduce these graphs on my desktop but I couldn't get images as clear as these:
I recorded a fair chunk of the signal audio, but it's super late here; I'll try to upload a sample tomorrow.
