Strategies for killing a Goliath on foot?

So, I've been coming up against a bunch of on foot missions where the target is tipped of, so the base has ships circling, and a Goliath as well.
Rather than just Abandon them I've been trying to do them.

Any strategies for dealing with the Goliath? It seems to have an insane amount of hit points.

I was told to ignore the Goliath, or maybe lure it away from the settlement and kill it with premium SRV ammo.

Once you're in the settlement, you should be able to dodge it fairly easily. It gets confused by close-together buildings. I found that the Goliath didn't actually do much damage, it just flushed me off of the rooftops into the waiting commandos below.

One day, I'll return to Hook Arms Site and burn it all to ash....

Stupid answer 1: shoot at it as long until it explodes.

Stupid answer 2: don't do it on foot.

I heard a rocket launcher might be helpful, but I never tested it.
Only read it's insane.
I saw some video of someone using a shotgun to drop one. Dunno how realistic it is to do that.

I've been running a laser rifle / kinetic rifle build. The laser strips the shields off the Goliath quite OK, but the armour doesn't budge no matter which weapon I select.
And, thus far, I've been dodging commandos and ground turrets so can't really hang around.

I wouldn't trust any videos of the plasma shotgun. Until recently it was bugged to have extremely tight spread with the right mods. The bug made it extremely powerful.

I finished in off with a G4 executioner to take down shields and used rocket launcher to remove hull. Took many, many ammo reloads. Handy I was hiding in a doorway with an ammo box.

That bug still exists. But against a large target like the Goliath, any spread is irrelevant as all pellets will hit anyway. Makes the Intimidator surprisingly effective against normal Skimmers.
Really? Someone in the Odyssey forum made a rather salty thread about it being nerfed.

So Hip Fire accuracy and Scope accuracy stack while you ADS?

The bug is that every time you leave your ship the scope spread gets ever more tight until all pellets collapse to a single one. Only that the pellets fly a short distance after each other and hit through the shields when the first hitting pellets smash the shield and all following hit the armour. Makes a nice pearl necklace when you hit the ground at a very shallow angle.

If the Goliath is anything like a Guardian Sentinel I dont think we have enough fire power to kill one. I took one to 2% hull with the SRV and finished it off on foot but it took all my ammo in the larger rifle.

I've killed one with an Intimidator and P-15, but it took so long to chip the armor down. I need to try with an L-6.

On horizons, if you run up a building the Goliath won't follow. There you can hind behind stuff... Problem is that as soon as you kill it another spawns. It's a dumb mechanic for things to respawn over and over without no end. Also you can clear a whole base with your ship as soon as you get in SRV everything reloads itself alive.

I don't think it's worth the effort or time it takes to destroy one on foot. Either ignore it (if you've got decent shields) and run/jump to your destination to throw its aim off, or deploy the SRV and take it out with your trusty Plasma Repeater.

I mean, it's like a skeet shoot. Ordinary skimmers are fragile enough that you don't need to land all the pellets to drop them.
