Goliaths are big enough to snipe with railguns at a distance. Don't know why you'd waste the time to do it on foot.
Because when you've got an Odyssey mission to take out a military settlement, and the settlement is tipped off, there are hostile ships flying around as well as the Goliath. My best ship isn't built to duke it out in that kind of 1 v many combat. I've taken out a few of the ships, but never managed the whole squad.
Landing sufficiently far away from the base and walking in means the ships don't agro, but then the Goliath is a pain to dodge on foot while you're also dealing with the swarming guards.
(Seems the trick is to take an E-breach and head for the biggest building, hack the door and then play hide and seek gunfight in the corridors. Ideally the CMD building, and ideally after turning off the settlement alarms. Was wondering how feasible it was to deal with the Golliath afterwards by a means
other than turning off the power to the settlement).
Thanks for the replies everyone. I'll buff my shotgun and rocket launcher at some stage and do it once, just to say I've done it.
