Stream Updates Thread

There is also some kind of vehicle in the goat photo that I've posted before. Maybe a tractor?
Still just the jeep, looks like I'm on tractor duty for everyone

Was there any confirmation on what interspecies bonus the Barnyard animals will have? I'm hoping they can all be mixed with each other.
They didn't mention it, no. It will be interesting because there aren't yet any species from different origins that share a bonus, so will the American donkey have a bonus with the Irish pig or the Welsh sheep? Will the S American Alpaca have one with the European goat? Wonder how they'll get around that. All herbivores can be mixed of course so you can put them together, they just might not get a happy boost from it.

Is the interspecies bonus even that big of a deal? Like are you actively missing out on something if they dont have it?
Genuine question since i only play sandbox.

Oh now this is exciting. Did they make it sound like these were the only animals getting this? It makes little sense to give the reindeer a new behavior but not also give it to at least the fallow deer.
Hard to say for sure, they weren't explicit that this was the final list but they way they delivered it made it sound that this would be it. They said all the barnyard animals "and a few of the ones already in the game" - and then listed these animals. They didn't really describe what the encounter would be either, I assume handling /stroking and maybe tossing food? Can't wait! 😁

Regarding the deer - reindeer are more domesticated than the other deer species in the game, which are very timid, so it makes sense to me.

For species that do have an interspecies bonus, there is an extra bar under social welfare that can be maximised by providing them with company. But its a minimal need and you dont have to satisfy it. Also there is no reduction to welfare by mixing species that dont get a bonus from each other. Only true carnivores cant be mixed (and actually even they can live peacefully with the giant tortoises if you want!)

I dont know how to feel about the cattle tho.
In my local zoo you can pet and feed them over the fence and they are really sweet, but i wouldnt excatly feel safe in their enclosure :D

Looks like it! If the 3 new fences are all new ones then I have solid evidence frontier is taking notes from me because in my wishlist I gave 3 examples of a new fence : iron metal fence, natural rock fence and a wooden picket fence.
I have been dyyyiiing for a natural rock fence! Don't know whether to laugh or cry now that we're getting it after I have built so many crumbly rock walls, piece by painfully placed piece! Fantastic

I'm happy to see that the community seems to have changed its mind about this new DLC and that most of people here seem to be happy. I think that knowing for sure that it is not the last DLC helps a lot of course but I feel like people are very happy with what was shown in the livestream.

We need to continue to support devs. They do a great job. It can't be perfect, they can't please everyone but jeez I'm impressed with what they're doing. I hope they continue this way.

Highland cows are actually pretty chill with people unlike other cows. I walk right past them in their fields as lot of countryside walks in the Scottish highlands go right through a field of them. That being said, I still don't personally feel completely safe especially if they have calves nearby because of those horns.
