Newcomer / Intro Stuck around Sol... Help?

i went to Sol like most of us do ... I was in an Asp which I sold when I got there and got into a Viper.

So my problem is it seems I can't leave the area. I can't jump out of this chunk of systems as my ship or any ship I can find to buy only jumps like 7 ly.

Am I doing something wrong here ? I can't plot a route outside of the 4-5 systems in the vicinity of Sol. I've tried jumping to the other systems and none of them seem to connect?

I swapped to a Type 9 heavy assuming it would have a higher jump distance but it does not. Also why can't you see what the jump distance specs are on ships when shopping for them ?

When you buy a ship it is very basic. You will need a better power plant, distributor and thrusters then your Viper won't have any issues in getting away from Sol. Flog th T9 and upgrade.

These are not directly relevant to jump range, only indirectly through weight. Improve the FSD.

Forget the Asp, how about the T9???

im in the mac beta. Ships are 100 cr. So relax with the non sense.

Anyways... I did upgrade the FSD in 2 ships it still doesn't effect range by anything at all. As you can see in the screen when you select it. No more range.

Are you sure you know how upgrading works?

Quality of outfitting components is measured by two different scales: Size (= Class) and Grade.

Class 3 modules are the right size for a Class 3 slot. The higher the class, the larger the module.

Grade is represented by letters and actually it's the other way round with them: A is best, E is worst for Frameshift Drives.

I just can't find any that improve actual distance is all. But I got out in the t9. Now to dump this dog and get back into an asp so can explore ....

Can't wait for beta to be all done.
