Stuck in Lantern Light , LALANDE 25224 system

Hi all CMDrs !

I decided to visit LALANDE 25224 to see the GALNET famous "Lantern Light Station" orbiting a neutron star at a totally insane speed.

I did managed to cruise with same orbit, then i managed to reach 5km close to the station.
Impossible to pass the airlock of course as the station itself has an insane self-rotation speed.

But... i decided to aim the airlock trajectory, close my eyes and push full throttle...

Ship destroyed at first hit with the station, obviously it was predictable...lol
Then ... the game respawns me INSIDE the Lantern Light Station !!!!
No other respawn location choice when ship destroyed !

From inside i can see NPC's ships entering the station!
Impossible to get out of course, ship is destroyed the second it passes the airlock.
Same when booking transport with Apex NPC, his ship is destroyed when getting out of airlock.

So... I'm STUCK in this station !

Thanks, yes i was reading a post suggesting to do some crime to respawn to a detention station.

What is pad loitering ? (sorry i'm french)

I am curious. When you say that you get destroyed when passing the airlock, Is your ship getting hit by the slot as you try to pass through?

Pad loitering refers to simply hanging out over a landing pad that you are not cleared to occupy.
You can also simply take more time than allowed to leave the station.

Apparently some sturdy & quick ships have been able to boost out of the slot and (barely) survive.
But the simplest remedy I have read about here on the forum is simply to leave the pad and then exit the game - apparently when you resume the game you'll be some distance from the station.

sounds good not going to try it,but yes that should work, seems silly,i went once and called it a day.apart from the challenge no point doing it twice,at least it was a little extra throwen into the game,07 cmdr.

If you (or anyone else) are still stuck in Lantern Light this is the way to fly out that worked for me:
  • Take off from a pad at the back, or take off and head to near the back of the station - you need a run-up to get max speed.
  • Set pips to 4-2-0 - max shields, and pips doesn't affect boost speed.
  • Line up on the mail-slot, make sure there's no Belugas or T-9s coming in, floor the throttle and Boost!
If it helps, close your eyes and pray to the deity of your choice.
You will get clobbered by the toast-rack on the way out, you need full shields to survive this.

Good luck!

Just as a heads up: They do on the Mandalay and the Type-8, even if they shouldn't. Don't know if a Mandalay is even fast enough to escape though.
You're right, they do affect it: slows mine from about 560 to 520m/s. The Mandalay is fast enough to do it, and so is the completely un-engineered Buckyball Cobra 3 at 420m/s - I've never seen it go so fast after it got splatted though!

Nice video!
I'd have thought that the optimum would be 4 pips to engines until the last second and then 4 to sys - tiny drop from absolute maximum speed for 66% more shield energy.
Also, I'm shocked that the Cobra got off so lightly (88% hull, and that with 4 pips to engines!) relative to the Mandalay (43% hull, 4 pips to sys, and faster) but I imagine a certain amount of luck was involved :)
