Stuck in the Void

Sooooooo, for personal reasons and whatnot I have been stuck in the void for the past year or so, and when I mean void I mean approx 60K from Sol. The yearning for the stars put me back in front of the PC on the 29th of last month (an auspicious return.......) and I started running back to Colonia like a man possessed (I heard Jacques sells a mean brew and my beers ran out just yesterday).

In any event, about, oh I don't know, I think 20K out from Colonia I stumble upon this planetary Nebula with a Neutron Star as primary and jump into it............

Sweet Mary-Jane.........my jaw hit the floor.......

Having spent soooooo much time away, I had absolutely no idea as to the new revamped Neutron stars........It was an absolutely beautiful sight. I sat there mesmerised for what must be about 15 minutes, just gawking........

Thought I stumbled upon an anomaly, just to find out that they have all been revamped to boost jump ranges or some such thing.

Coming to the point of the thread, I cannot remember the last time I was filled with such awe at a sight in Elite and am wondering if anything else got a makeover?

Oh yes, for the colonists in Colonia, hang onto your sisters and wives........I'm 15K out and coming in hot

I think sometimes people just forget how great this game is. Even though it is roughly only a skeleton of what it can be. What it will be. So far we have the basics of the game, but these are awesome.
17 months ago we didn´t have planetary landings. And now ...
Look at what they have achieved.

A few months ago a friend of me said when he saw the galmap for the first time, that the galmap alone is worth the money for the game.

The game is truely amazing. We have to remember that it is so far a very, very huge empty sandbox. We have to fill it with our imagination...
