RCT 3 PC Stuck on "Box Office"

Hi All,

I am stuck on the tycoon element of the Box Office scenario :(

The VIP wants to ride a coaster with a rating of 7. How can I tell the overall rating of a coaster. Is it available anywhere, or do you have to add the three values in the ride report together and divide by 3?

I built Danglefeet, and the VIP rode it, but left the park unsatisfied.

I'm stumped!

It's the excitement rating that needs to be at least 7. She's also quite a fussy VIP so make sure that the paths are clean and that you have very few breakdowns. Keep an eye on her thoughts and you can see if there's anything that she doesn't like.

Michael

I stumbled on the solution just today... Here's how I did it.

Click on the VIP.

Click the info (?) tab for the VIP. You will see a symbol of a yellow star with a person over top of it. (Check through all the VIP's tabs, you will find it off to the left of the tab window.)

Click on the symbol, and a VIP way points window will open.

This window also contains the VIP symbol. Click on it, then go to the entrance of your roller coaster. You will see a blue spring looking way point hovering over your coaster entrance.

Left click and set the way point.

Then, either this visit or next, the VIP will ride the coaster.

Thanks for answering, but my problem is not getting her to ride it, but for her to leave the park satisfied afterwards.

I am led to believe that Danglefeet has a high enough excitement rating (7+) for her, but she is still not satisfied.

Try using the VIP way points to get her to ride multiple 7+ excitement coasters.

If I get time I'll go back and replay the scenario.

If you keep an eye on her thoughts does she complain about anything?

Michael

I'm so stupid! Danglefeet only had an excitement rating of 6.95, not 7.

I built a different coaster and now she is satisfied!

Now I just need to get my park rating over 700 for 3 months. It's stuck around the 450 level at the moment.

I have kept litter to a minimum. I have loads of rides now.

The main negative thought of the peeps is "I have spent all my money".

Please could anyone suggest how to get my park rating higher?

Make sure you have plenty of cash machines placed if the guests are complaining about having spent all their money. When placing them group two or more together so that larger groups can access them as needed.

If you hover your mouse pointer over the park rating, a pop-up will appear showing how the park rating is made up.

Michael

Hi Michael,

Any ideas how to get my park rating up further? I have added the cash machines as suggested. Now the only unhappy thoughts of the Peeps is about the paths, which I am working on.

I can't figure out how to hover and see how the park rating is made up.

I have loads of rides, etc now. Loads of guests, good profit, but park rating is only 425. Need to reach 700 before I can complete the level!!!

How many guests do you have in park? Do you have plenty of food and drink stalls? Make sure they are grouped together as with the cash mahines.

Are the rides busy, replace the ones that aren't. More valuable rides will atrract more guests. Also make sure that you have some trained entertainers walking around the park.

Michael

If I remember right all you have to do is place your mouse on the park rating bar and leave it there for a bit. You could also try clicking/double-clicking on it as well to see if that brings the park rating breakdown up.

How reliable are your rides? If they have lots of downtime then your rating suffers (hint: Always set the inspection time to 10 minutes). and always fully train your mechanics.

Also check for litter/vomit on the paths. Hire more janitors if you need to, and make sure they are fully trained (they go much faster).

I have approx 1300-1400 guests.

I'm OK for food & drink stalls, but I need to improve the reliability of my rides.

I'll keep plugging away!

...I need to improve the reliability of my rides....
If you repeatedly call a mechanic to a ride (I think it's in the maintenance tab (the cogs)) it will increase it's reliability. It takes a while but with 4-5 requests and a fully trained mechanic you can boost your ride reliability but a fair bit.
