Dirty old EVE Online I'm afraid. Artists impression - the actual game looks nothing like that. The game looks like "Work in Progress" except with an overly complex frontend and no real cockpit style combat.

I'm a bit ed off by the prevalence of tutti-frutti nebulae in sci-fi artwork - sure, they are pretty, but come on!
Hopefully the Elite 4 team will limit themselves to including nebulae only where they actually are or should be present. If I fly to dumbbell nebula, I won't say 'no' to visual marvels of ionised gases, but in most systems, I want my blackness of space back.
All in all, the pics are great.

Floating cities huh? Will have to see what I can find
regarding nebula, I'm in full agreeance, I too hope for some very dark space
I personally think this stems from artists not realising that the Hubble pictures are artificially coloured.
Not all of them
you can actually see many nebula from earth with a pair of binoculars and/or a small telescope. I used to think so too - many are colour enhanced but a great number of them are actually like the photos - spectacular.
Yep - just a longer exposure so the colour intensifies.

Possible. Emission nebulae are often red-pink tinted due to the dominant wavelengths they emit in.
I agree, the detail - especially in the foreground - is stunning. Lots of the other pictures are great too, though

That "Escape from Cloudy Sky" actually does have a very Frontierish look to it. Reminds me of some of the orbital trading posts they brought in with FFE.
Some of this artwork is really spectacular. It's actually a good job there isn't an Elite out there that looks quite like that - I spend enough time on my computer as it is - I don't think I'd ever be off it if I had eye candy like that to look at!
