Don't worry about the details. Elite isn't real canon anymore. History sort of starts with the Frontier Gazetteer.

Ah, so the cause of the Feds attempting to invade Achenar was that the fledgling Empire committed Xenocide/Genocide on the original inhabitants of Achenar 6?
I think some people need to climb down from their moral high horse in that case and accept their bloody hands for what they are.

What contract are we talking about again? Is it the one that others think the Alliance is obliged to accept in order to stand up to their Nirvana fallacy, then they kicked up the bum because they always had malicious intent in mind?

As far as I knew, what we heard on the recent live stream (quoted by OP) and what is on Drew Wagars website (below) was what is considered lore for elite dangerous;

Make of it what you will, not that it matters much in my opinion. I'm personally leaning towards it being the Feds who instigated things, judging by what I have read and heard. Could all just be Imperial or Alliance propaganda though. Don't believe everything you hear on Galnet
