Stupid white dwarf....

So, running this smuggling mission that wants me to "snake" some imperial slaves into Yurchikhin (I think, text is a bit fuzzy) Port at Geras system. OK, no problem. Except when I make the jump for Geras it launches me right into a white dwarf (I'd never seen one so it scared the hell out of me lol) and Yurchikhin(?) Port is literally 1,052,965LS away....I mean, why?

It doesn't really look like a white dwarf (DC), even though it says that's what it is. Looks more like a neutron star.

That is what they look like, they have the same ejection cone. But they're a lot hotter and a lot more dangerous.
Next time your HUD says you're jumping to a white dwarf system, throttle down mid-jump

White Dwarfs are currently the most dangerous jumping hazard (maybe Black Holes, too. But far less common). It used to be Neutron Stars but I think it was altered in the last update so you'd drop a little further away :)

Ah, well that's interesting. I think I'm just going to drop that mission then. One million LS is a bit ridiculous.

The star does look fantastic, just scared the hell out of me haha

I presume you'll never sample the delights of Hutton Orbital then if a million LS puts you off.

I refuse to go to Hutton until you get to keep a Hutton Mug to put on your dashboard.

That's a good idea

That won't ever happen. I mean what would be the incentive for FDev to make a mug bobble head? As a CG reward maybe, but they'd only do that for somewhere popular, not somewhere out of the way that folks demand a reward for visiting.

There's already something to keep after a visit to Hutton anyway... (well two if you count the smell from cubicle 3), and that's the feeling of having done something most folk are scared to try. Something Hutton shares with Jacques Station and Beagle Point, tbh.

Going to Jacques or Beagle actually takes effort and dedication. For Hutton you point your ship and throttle up then watch tv or a movie. There is no real reason to visit Hutton other than to be able to say you've done it, which is fairly pointless for aforementioned reasons. The Rare Commodity (the mug in question, which was added due to a CG) is not a competitive way to make money either.

Also I wasn't talking about a bobble. I'm talking about an actual mug. Others have also suggested a patch for your Holo-Me instead, which would also be an incentive.

When you open up a mission in this game it would be really useful if it told you upfront how far in Ls your destination was going to be...

There's a nice space for it there next to outpost in the above example.

It would be a tiny change that would save a lot of player frustration. Pretty sure we'd get things done much more efficiently. I know you can pull up the system map to check but to do that you first have to open the galaxy map and it's just a drag...

Just rob the gear for yourself. Sometimes I get tricked by anarchy groups. Take A to B but they change B to Z, ok, rob the gear.

If you get into a habit of throttling down into the blue as soon as you drop and turning away to the nearest side of the star you wont have any issues going forward, even with some of the bigger slower turning ships. The only time you might find a problem is when you drop between two Stars or directly on top of one that is orbiting another closely. That's scary as fk.

Hutton orbital... Omg i remember i had a mission for that one time. 1.5 mio reward... LoL if i was still wearing my Tin foil hat back then, then maybe i would have done the mission.
There is no way in hell i am gonna take a 0.22 ly trip with the way super Cruise is working now..
Sit there and watch the timer for 1 hour and 20 min give or take, Moving your controller every 10 min LOL no thx.
I could make 4 times that money in a res zone and actually have fun instead...

Now if Supercruise was buffed, then maybe. And by buffed i mean.

When you reach 200C, which will actually take you 8-10 min to reach depending how dense the system is. Then there should be an engage option that would boost your Supercruise very drastic.. To ballance that, maybe you would have to disengage that Hyper supercruise to prevent system dmg now and then. "But how to interdict then" well by the time you reach 200C you are pretty much away from anything that could catch you anyway, so i dont see a problem there.. And even with standard Supercruise u can't catch a person who are 100 LS away except if he throttles down anyway, so dont see the problem there either.
So if we could do that then maybe i would take such a trip...." You dont have to do it. No one is forcing you" sooooo true. I dont have to do anything in the game LOL.

You are talking about Hutton Orbital.

I just picked up a delivery mission to Hutton Orbital. Stupid me. I didn't know it was that far away. I hope the liquor I'm bringing taste really good.

White Dwarfs have slower, smaller, and less defined jets than Neutron Stars. White Dwarfs are more dangerous than Neutron Stars because as someone said, they're hotter, and they have a much larger exclusion zone relative to the size of their jets. You also drop in closer to the exclusion zone than with Neutron Stars, I think.

Also, remember to "snake" the slaves in the station, not put your snake into the slaves LOL. "Snake in Slaves" is a little ambiguous, I grant you.
