Sturdy Joystick mounting on table

how do you guys mount your joystick sturdy ?
i have a x52pro.
The suction cups suck balls. I then tried velcro but that destroyed the wood veneer on my old desk so i then literally screwed it into the wood but thas too permanent :D

I tried finding bolts with knobs but i need a 5x70mm bolt with a which does not exist.
any other ideas ?

You can get drop mounts that clamp to the edge of your desk but they're hideous expensive. Not recommending these, for illustrative purposes only:

Having seen what they cost, but wanting to get my HOTAS below the level of the desk, I made a couple of box mounts and screwed my joystick and throttle to them:

Maybe get a steel plate, put rubber feet on the bottom, and screw it to the bottom of your hotas? The weight will keep your devices in place, without modifying your desk at all.

I utilize what could be referred to as a 6 foot picnic table. It is 6 foot wide, and about 2.5 ft. deep and has folding legs.
I've installed three monitors. A 10 in. tablet sits in front of one, a conventional keyboard sits in front of the middle and my coffee etc etc etc goes in front of the other. My warthog stick and throttle are velcroed to a plastic piece of shelving and is 2 ft. by 1 ft and an inch thick. Sitting in an conventional office chair, i set the shelf on my lap. When not using it, I store it on the table in front of the main screen and place a towel over it to keep dust off.

Depends on the table and the sticks. The 16000M + throttle I mounted (they have mounting holes) onto a board which in turn was clamped to the table. The (much higher) dual Virpils are now residing on a pair of 3D printed drop mounts that are clamped onto my Ikea Poäng chair.

when I used mine I used a wood workers g clamp ugly as sin yea but the stick went no where and was easy to remove/refix
I just use a pad an voice attack now as I play from a reclining sofa chair with a homemade inverted L monitor stand which hovers over it so the track IR lines up good
as I am built fa comfort now not speed

I have an ikea jerker and the pullout shelves are awesome. i put the hotas on them for gaming then slide it inside for regular use.
my pc is multipurpose and i want to quickly stow them away

I use a g cramp as well, but mainly when I'm likely to encounter combat, or for longer VR sessions. The rest of the time I don't bother securing the stick....

(SD - I went from x-box controller/VA to HOTAS/VA mainly because I could not get the hang of keeping awareness of my throttle position in combat when using the pad, interesting that someone went the opposite way...)

I use the x-box analogue triggers for forward backward thrust which is precise enough otherwise its voice control for throttle setting which I have set slow midships fast and flank
as for headlook track IR takes care of that
as for type of control I wouldn't care if it was a mobile phone app as long as it does precisely what I want it to do namely offer flight assist off precision movment requirements and is not uncomfortable after prolonged use
gone are the days I play from a desk lol besides with a stick in the way of the dolche coffee dispensers place well that just wouldn't go down well

I have a x52pro too. The suction cups stick like limpets to my glass topped computer desk. I have to prise them off.

I use some some high-tech blue tack!

Five generous blobs under the stick (four corners and the middle) and another five under the throttle (same as for the stick).

They never move and they don't mark the desk, and with a bit of effort I can peel them off if I need to.
