Submitting to interdiction for fun and profit...

I do from time to time enjoy delivering data to some stations on the edge of the bobble... There are some interdictions obviously. Now, since I nearly finished my Python for PvE, I am considering submitting to those interdictions and blowing up pirates out of existence (till they respawn again)... Good idea or should I just escape as usual (I am not bad at it so can continue...)

Kill em all.
Don't forget some collector limpets!🥳

Edit: And if the cops poke their noses in, kill them too!

Kill them all but don't forget to scoop up those tasty materials

Kill em all!

Mission pirates will come as 4 anacondas when you hit deadly or elite, and drop great bounties, bonuses, and materials as the other guys have alluded to! Lower rank (in one of the 3) will do the same, but they'll be a little easier with each lower rank. If you have time, it's always worth it mate!

Your goals will guide you a little bit here. Why do this?
Because it can be fun. Whether that's true or not isn't up to us; it's up to you.
You can earn some credits* (whether you consider it to be a lot or a little, profitable or not depends upon your expectations).
Ninja'd: you can gather some goodies from NPC's remains (most of us like goodies).
This activity can help you to learn quite a lot about how your ship maneuvers, how it fares against various weaponry, and about tactics for more effectively taking care of NPCs.
When you have become proficient in evading interdictions, that's a good accomplishment because it allows you to determine when you want to do what. That's a position of power that helps you to enjoy the game more.

Have fun out there!

* to redeem those bounties, you'll have to stop in the system where you off-ed the NPC or in one where the faction that issued the bounty has a presence.

Edit: I also am in my Python most of the time.

One of the reasons that I upgraded my traders is that I got tired of running for my life, trailing fire and debris in my T7.

Also the chain interdictions were annoying as s**it.

So I got a Python, A-classed it and started to fight interdictions. Then came Anacondas due to my combat rating, this led to a Corvette, fixed her up and kicked the Anacondas to the curb. Corvettes can carry a decent amount of cargo, with a good shield and maxed weapons, it can more than hold its own against 3 Anacondas, even took 5 on one time and killed 3 before I had to leave.

The scenarios have changed since then but I always submit and kill them all, just adds to the bottom line, happy hunting!

Aaaa, I am Elite in Trade and Exploration - working on the combat now...

I expect you'll get 4 deadly anacondas then mate, for the majority of missions. They really aren't that tough though. You might have to recharge shields every now and then if you want all 4, in a small ship, but should be fine in a Corvette - honestly. They have patterns you get to spot, so mix up what you do.

But in all honesty, you can try the first one and see how it goes - you'd have to be shocking as a pilot to lose it, I really do think you'll be fine. But the only person who knows their skill is you - and I imagine you're better than you may think mate :)

It'll depend on the mission rank - Elite missions give the deadly Anacondas, below that it might be pythons, FDLs or FASs. Mission enemies don't seem to depend that much on your own rank.

All good for boosting combat rank, getting materials, and significantly boosting the mission pay if you can take them on, of course.

Thanks Ian, I've been getting the deadly condas for so long that I forgot if they were based on your rank or the mission rank. The OP's Corvette should be good for practising on at least one badboy anyway, to get used to the type of scrap, and build up from there, like you say :)

Submitting to NPC interdictions are a great way to practice and improve your combat skills. PVP interdictions are a totally different matter if your goal is to improve basic skills before going up against PVP pilots. I learned to FA off and fight off enemies in my T10 by simply submitting to NPC interdictions and killing them All. KILL THEM, KILL THEM ALL !!!

Super good idea, erase them from the sky,it's fun ;)

When I am running cargo, I do not submit, I always fight and usually win the interdiction mini game. When I do lose, I run, this rarely happens, like once a month or less.

However when I have my Cobra or my Vulture doing pirate massacre missions and I get interdicted, GAME ON. I really should pay attention to the ship interdicting me and the level of the pilot, I usually do not. I've only had to run for my life a couple of times. My Vulture and Cobra are A level, G1'd on a couple of modules only with some hull and module reinforcements. I have not been sent to the rebuy screen yet (for combat anyway)... but I've only been playing for several months now. And all the those engineering mats from my kills means I get to engineer my modules, and hull, etc.
