Hardware & Technical Suggested GPU(s) for Eyefinity and crossfire

Yep I know what you mean, right now it's still the best option even though it's not perfect. I came pretty close to pulling the trigger on it too but I decided to wait instead and build an entire new setup once the consumer version is out.

"A quick switch method between single mon, multi-mon and surround modes would be to press and hold the windows key + P.

This will bring up a display mode menu...
Computer Only = Single monitor mode
Duplicate = Surround mode
Extended = Multi-mon mode.

Quicker than loading the nvidia control panel and switching modes that way."

@adoredtv From one of your own threads you linked........ You answered your own question and reinforced exactly what I said above in my post......... need I go on???
like I said above, just a fanboy jumping the gun, try reading what is written before going off half cocked, you might learn something..........

Dont get them before christmas - wait until february - prices are dropping after the christmas "profit" time.

I would go for two gtx 970 slightly overclocked - maybe get one first and the other later - the low power consumption will safe much money compared to a R290 - i prefer evga and would look for one with acx 2 cooler - mabye the EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SuperClocked ACX 2.0 (1165 MHz)

as psu a 800w from corsair (has single rail 12v and 80 plus) which is more than you need but runs cooler and more efficient as a 650w

btw i got an i5 4590 and a gtx 670 - at max settings with smaa i have 120 frames in space and more than 60 in and near stations - the 970 is about 40 % faster... the game needs a good cpu with at least 4 cores - doesnt matter intel or amd

edit: at 1920*1080...

The fact that you didn't even try it to see exactly how it works tells me everything I need to know. You got schooled, go away.

LOL ?? It worked fine, just took 2 clicks instead of one (I should know I actually had this setup)...... mate you need to go back to the drawing board and come up with something better than that, the only one getting schooled here is you!

Here's the deal. You are going to make a video proving this by the same time tomorrow, or you're just a lying fool.

LOL?? I dont need to prove anything mate, try it yourself....... it should work the same way with AMD cards as well(because it is in windows not in the video card driver) unless it has been changed since I had my 7970's .
Press windows key plus P and arrow over to select the screen mode.......
I don't have a "youtube channel" to post to like some and why would I bother proving something like this that is plain as day. just try it........
Look I'm really sorry that i am embarrassing you but you need to just chill out a bit and read first before reacting!!

So no video?

The Windows+P trick has been buggy for ages. It wasn't doable for years after surround was available and even then it still had issues regarding being unable to toggle bezel compensation and other stuff.

That was the whole point of these drivers. ALMOST 3 YEARS AFTER NV SURROUND WAS AVAILABLE.

What’s New in Release 325

NVIDIA Control Panel

Surround:

3D Settings->Configure Surround
Added the ability to create keyboard shortcuts for enabling/disabling Surround,
switching between triple and single-wide display resolutions, and enabling/disabling
bezel correction.

Guess what? Windows+P has been borked since 331

Now, what was it you were telling me about Nv Surround being so much easier to set up than Eyefinity? I'll show you the video soon but no worries I won't be holding my breath waiting on yours.

You are so far out of your depth son you are just gulping water now. Give it a rest, you literally have no chance whatsoever.

Also, does anybody know if explicit crossfire support was added in the same way it was for SLI?

Yes, Crossfire support was added along with SLI as of Beta 1.02 if I am not mistaken. The difference is Nvidia published a SLI profile in their driver specifically for E: D, while AMD/ATI has not yet. To force crossfire one has to create a 3D Gaming profile under the Catalyst Control Center for EliteDangerous32.exe and set Crossfire to Optimize 1x1.

As i have said all along old fella;)(that's fair, you're calling me son and I'm 52 this month) , it works and just because it didn't work in certain cases doesnt mean it did not work for me(because it worked fine and does to this day, i never used bezel compensation back then or now) I stated above in my first post that it was my point of view that it was easier with my Nvidia setup (and it was)! You still don't get it... Take off those red colored glasses and you might be able to see what's really going on. You are so out of your depth at the moment that i kind of feel sorry for you.....like I said multiple times before, just read the post and don't jump to your own conclusions, it's less stressful and embarrassing for you that way!

Ps Just subbed to your Youtube channel and am looking forward to some great insight...

390 and 390x should be dropping in January-ish. That's close enough to hold your breath and see what happens, and if no one produces a card with enough ports Nvidia cards will be going on sale to remain competitive.

Just copying my phrases doesn't make your lack of argument any better FYI.

Yes and thumbs downing ALL my videos, how mature of you! Are you sure you're 52 and not 12? Pathetic.

Yes as much as dearly want a rig that can do ED justice before then, I can wait and get by with the Elitebook. Sure the graphics and fps might not be stellar, but the game is still good fun.

Copying your phrases? you are grasping at straws there old fella.
I haven't thumbs down anything.... obviously you have annoyed someone else here but I can 100% guarantee you it had nothing to do with me.... you'd better stop this fanboy rant now or it will turn into a tumor....

If you go right back to the beginning of this thread and read again you would see that from the start I was simply giving my opinion on my setups, so you can carry on like an idiot all you like, but last time I checked my opinion is still mine and not anyone else's!! Obviously you have had a bad day and were looking for an argument or something to that effect.....
There are loads of people on both sides(nvidia/AMD) who have had various problems with setting up Surround/SLI/Eyefinity etc even some in this thread who have had problems with AMD also. You must think you are the Almighty and that only your opinion is valid!! I feel sorry for you mate as you will someday come crashing down from that high horse.......

Anyways I think it is time you stopped derailing the OP's thread, I'd hate for it to be closed due to someone like you going totally off topic and mental, when all he asked was for a bit of sensible help........
