Hey, I have been thinking about this, so I decided to try to better visualize my suggestions. Some input and realizations gave me some new ideas. I may have gone overboard and missed the points on some things, but if that’s the case, I’m not too stubborn. I still think my suggestions are good and could give the game some more variety in terms of ship selection.Realistically, I could see design space in the game for at least 100 ships, possibly even 200+, as the main manufacturers will attempt to compete in pretty much every market while the smaller ones restrict themselves to their core competencies. At the moment with our ~40ish ships, there's entire swathes of ship roles and price points that are either empty or have a single manufacturer monopolising them.
Note:I struggled to find specific things to describe some of the categories, so I made some of them up. I’m sure with context, the category and the qualities of the ships in the category should be obvious. If not, I can elaborate.
