I've been thinking about this for a while now, and since a lot of people seem to use the trick of buying a Hauler, upgrading the FSD, heading to a system where you have a ship stored, selling the Hauler, grabbing your ship then taking it back to the system where you want to keep it, I thought maybe "Ship Delivery" should be a thing.
Say you go to a random starport, and you'll have an option in the option list called "Ship Delivery".
You'll be able to select a starport in any system that is less than 500 light years from where your ship is stored, and the price will be different depending on the distance from where your ship is stored, to which port you want it to delivered to.
You'll have many factors to determine the price, including "delivery quality" of sorts, like "standard", "premium", "express" and such, which will determine how fast your ship is delivered to the wanted system.
When you choose the option, you'll open the Galaxy Map and you'll be able to search for a system, select a port there then click "Deliver", and then the game will give you multiple options to choose delivery "quality", then it'll tell you how much time it will take the service to deliver the ship, which can range between minutes and hours depending on the distance and delivery service level you selected.
After you click 'Deliver', and the action is completed, a countdown timer in your Transaction (1) menu will appear, telling you in what system the hauling ship is currently in, and how long it will take it deliver your ship to the selected system.
Perhaps the quality of service you select will also determine the risks there will be of the hauling ship that is delivering your ship to be attacked by pirates, and you will need to pay more to have higher security/escort ships.
I decided to try and detail this as much as possible since it's a suggestion and I don't want to have a single sentence long suggestion that will be ignored.
