Suggestion for planet side bookmarks/waypoint markers

The new changes that came with the engineers such as bookmarks etc have been bloody amazing. But one thing is still missing.

When it comes to planets can something be put in place to mark a specific location on the surface via coordinates to help guide us to specific locations?
Kind of like the search box in the galaxy/system map on the left side that marks planets, stations, and engineers but with a longitude/latitude search input.

This option would only pop up when you zoom in on the planet.

Or perhaps add the planet surface texture to the grid along with LNG/LAT markers on the grid it's self to give us a better way to figure out the coordinates were looking for?

Which ever is easier, but any way to assist us visually or numerically for landings would be amazing :)

Thanks for looking

I was thinking this exact thing earlier. It would also be nice if the Planetary Map was actually the 3d model with the texture of the planet and its terrain map, so you could really zoom in and see where you want to set down and set a waypoint there.

+1. Do you want this? Yes. Do you want this now? Yes, yesterday was late.

When FD anourced waypoints i was happy. I told myself: Finally i could make some surface waypoints to barnacles for easy comeback.
I imagined it like this: im on surface -> open galaxy map -> go to bookmarks -> press button save my surface location. -> Bookmark will shown in Bookmarks list
and in system map when you scroll close to planet.

[h=1]planet side bookmarks/waypoint markers - should be in ED from begining when bookmarks feature was introduced to us.[/h]
