Short description
Detailed summary
Some of the military ships and especially the Federal Corvette and Imperial Cutter suffer a bit from a lack of jump range for a ship this size and the purpose of military patrol/interdiction ships. Instead of artifically adapting the jump range of ships, I think it would be nice to have the option available in the ship outfitting to use FSD boosters, similar to Shield Boosters, to increase the versatility of ships a bit. Not only would military ships benefit from this, trading and exploration vessels would also profit from these modules.
To prevent a huge increase by stacking a large number of these modules, they should only fit into military slots, which would limit their number to a (more or less) reasonable number. A player would have to make a choice if he wants a higher jump range, a reinforment package or a shield cell bank or another defensive module in the military slot(s).
Non-Horizon players would also get the chance for a small increase in jump range outside the engineers.
- FSD booster module available in ship outfitting
- Class 0, rated E to A (0E, 0D,...0A), similar to Shield Boosters
- Jump range increased depending on module rating by 5% up to 25% (0E -> 5%, 0A -> 25%), cummulative
- Weight and power consumption similar to Shield Boosters
- Fits only in military slots
