Then I must have missed something from the patchnotes. I haven't been mining since 2.1 for bromellite and I remembered it was a pain as it was never enough content in these 1000 tonnes rocks dropping 10 tonnes of ore. Apologies.

Icy resources happen to only have half as much content as others (the way we mine I imagine most of the content evaporates in this case). You gotta use clusters or extraction sites there to make any reasonable progress. Just stumbling through a ring is the worst thing you can do with ice mining, even in a pristine system.
