They definitely do read these. Theyve quoted previous suggestions in game updates in the past and I have been issed forum warnings for calling out posters for enciting hate imo. (Apparently by defending others I am breaking the rules...)

My only worry is frountier have downscaled the ED team in the last couple of years and major updates have been postponed and cancelled in favour of fixing issues in the current game.

In the developer world this is usually a sign of completing a game to move on to new projects so the future is bleak for ED.

More than likely theyll launch a EDII in 5 or so years rather than actually developing this version with atmospheric land or space legs.

The problem is the core game is built on a p2p network which is obsolete by current gaming standards and to change that you have to rebuild from the ground up. There comes a point the developers will find it easier and more cost effective to start again and I think we are there.

Secondly, the company has had some major success with other games now so inevitably they are going to focus development on areas that are more profitable to them. Since theres no subscription and the micro transactions on ED are old with no sign of development it all points to new projects taking priority at frountier

They definetely used to read the forums and take notes, not sure if they are still doing it. Don't expect a reply from them, there are 26.000 threads and 194.000 replies in the suggestions forum. Also keep in mind that they are not sitting around twiddling their thumbs, the entire dev team is constantly busy developing updates and adding new mechanics, it's not like they are just waiting for someone to tell them what to do. That doesn't mean you shouldn't post your suggestions and feedback, just don't expect that it will be added to the game.
Apart from that, most stuff that could be added to the game was already suggested by someone else or it's already on their to-do list (remember the 26.000 threads I mentioned above?).
Generally, they mostly listen to feedback on already existing / planned mechanics. If an overwhelming majority agrees with a specific suggestion there is a small chance that it will be considered (if it's technically feasible and doesn't compromise their own plans and ideas).

thank you babelfish and Zcorruption for the exclusion, now I feel more at peace with all this, thank you for exposing me to these truths, let us wait for one day to be heard ... but in the meantime we will enjoy the game the way it is.
