Nice list.
One thing I'd like to see regarding missions is various groupings/sub-grouping/splitting (options maybe on this?) for the mission boards e.g.
1) Combat-related missions (assasinations, pirate/civillian/bhs/military/agent targets) grouped under Combat sub-group
2) Trading-related missions (deliver this cargo, etcc..) under appropriate tag)
3) Exploration missions, etc..
That way we'd know which missions will affect which part of our Pilot Federation Ranking.
Also similar sub-splitting option can be available based on Federation / Empire Ranking in order to progress into these. Color-coding maybe?
And finally Faction-related mssions splitting and progress bar in order to see how many more / which missions you must complete for x/y/z faction in order to unlock contact with specefic(s) engineer(s).
All these should ideally be selectable / toggleable so that we can focus on improving a particular aspect of our commander carier in the Elite universe.
And now that I am thinking aloud of it: What / How about making our Pilots Federation ranking
dynamic? i.e. if you start being defeated by lower ranked NPCs / Cmdrs (either during mission, combat zone or free flight) your Combat Rank starts to go down.
Similarly if you trade and buy high and sell low (i.e. sell with a loss - the higher the loss the higher the effect) , or fail to deliver xyz cargo in time / get destroyed with cargo on you hold or fail cargo / trade-related mission for any reason, you trade rank takes a dive.
Now for exploration it will only start to go down if you keep visiting already discovered,
by you only, systems. Or fail to complete exploration mission in time / due to destruction / accident etc..
Obviously not playing the game for prologned periods of time will have no effect

I understand this will cause frustration for casual / not hardcore players but it will increase immersion IMO.
