Summary of Engineers Beta Livestream: Part 3

Am I the only one who doesn't give a damn about the weapon modification stuff?
If you've ever played Planetside2, this looks and feels exactly like the Implant system there. And that didn't change the game one bit.

The new base building system however did.

Nope, but I am excited about the Engineer's bases and the whole mechanic of being invited to go to them as your experience and reputation increases. The bases look amazing and I'm really looking forward to unlocking more and more of them, even if I'm not particularly interested in what these guys can actually do to my ship when I get there (strange but true).

Thanks for the erm, thanks and rep guys. :)

Looking forward to 2.1, which will be an even bigger update for players like me on Xbox, with Horizons coming in hot soon. Planet landing, new huge weapons and engineer upgrades - all in one package. Can't wait. I will be watching the beta forums with interest tomorrow.

First off +1 for the Effort, but I have to suggest some corrections/explanations:

  • Animation for Special Chance is gone from beta video

The Special Effect Calibrating Animation is removed only for the modules that do not have a special effect.

  • No engineers mods for shields. Yet.

This needs a bit explanation. You can modify your shields (by altering their stats), but there is no special effect yet for shields - or for any module except weapons, for what it's worth. (at the moment)

  • Video shown for Torpedo weapon. Weapons fired at T9. New mod called Mass Lock, prevents targeted vessel from jumping into Hyperspace. Less useful against smaller ships.

This needs also explanation. It does not prevent you from going into Hyperspace, but it hinders you. As the name already suggest, it simulates a mass lock. Meaning that if you are an already smaller ship you will see no real difference and if you high wake instead of low wake there is no prevention whatsoever.

  • You can't be totally locked out of an Engineer base unless you shoot at their base.

I will quote what Mark Allan said:
"No, you can never be totally locked off, but the Engineers will decide not to work with you if you for example have shot their Base."
