honestly? i am still putting my money on islands for summer. Islands in the general would be perfect for a animal pack even without the fossa, but in my vision, for a island pack work it would need to represent the biggest amount of islands possible, witch means that every animal should from a different island, and also the animals should be mainly or only found on islands, but i think i already talked too much, so here's what i got:
Islands animal pack
Tasmanian Devil (headliner) - Tasmania - the demon is by far the most wanted animal since conservation added the pre horse and the leopard, and after being skipped three times, i think it's time for Taz finally shiny as the headliner of this pack
aye-aye - Madagascar - Madagascar is one of the most famous (and one of the biggest) islands in the world, and doesn't having it in such a pack would be weird, but with it's most prominent fauna, the lemurs, already being well represented, and the island apex predator coming with the tropical pack, so what could be the best animal? well the answer is obvious: the aye aye, unique, popular and scary in a good way.
north island brown kiwi - new Zealand - i really it's time for a proper animal to represent NZ at this point, and what is better than the most iconic animal of that island and one of the most recognizable bird: the kiwi.
Japanese Serow - Japan - Japan is one of the most important islands and already have a endemic animal for it, but what about a new and cute one, mainly when is a so incredible caprid.
Marine iguana - Galapagos - this one is kinda controversial, mainly because it's not particularly common in zoos (1 zoo have it) but i don't think having one unrealistic animal in a animal pack is a problem(although none of the animals that i say until now are particularly common in captivity,) but it get's a pass because, let's be honest, the idea of building a enclosure for a bunch of diving iguanas sounds cool af.
Coconut Crab - Indian ocean island (and some portions of continent as well) - biggest terrestrial arthropod of the world, it's not only unique but it's also a amazing animal in the general.
Lowland Anoa - Sulawesi - A small bovid that is unique in every single way, being our only small cattle and one habitat friend from babirusa? hell yeah.
exhibit - honestly this could be literary anything, islands aren't exactly the best place from big animals (since we kill the vast majority of then) but they are a paradise from small animals, with opens a fan of animals to be added here, for example the default exhibit could have: Fiji iguanas, Noronha skink, rhinoceros iguana, Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, Philippine forest turtle, etc.
meanwhile from WE, there's: Philippine eagle, celestial monarch, golden-crowned flying fox, green billed coucal, and many others.
this all without counting the already mentioned island, like the kea from NZ, the Darwin finch's from Galapagos and many others. but for sake of listing, i will pick the Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, because, well there's was archive form then in the game, so i think it's fair to put them here
so yeah, i think this would be a pretty solid pack for summer and a pretty good pack in the general.
