Summer DLC Speculation 2023

honestly? i am still putting my money on islands for summer. Islands in the general would be perfect for a animal pack even without the fossa, but in my vision, for a island pack work it would need to represent the biggest amount of islands possible, witch means that every animal should from a different island, and also the animals should be mainly or only found on islands, but i think i already talked too much, so here's what i got:

Islands animal pack
Tasmanian Devil
(headliner) - Tasmania - the demon is by far the most wanted animal since conservation added the pre horse and the leopard, and after being skipped three times, i think it's time for Taz finally shiny as the headliner of this pack
aye-aye - Madagascar - Madagascar is one of the most famous (and one of the biggest) islands in the world, and doesn't having it in such a pack would be weird, but with it's most prominent fauna, the lemurs, already being well represented, and the island apex predator coming with the tropical pack, so what could be the best animal? well the answer is obvious: the aye aye, unique, popular and scary in a good way.
north island brown kiwi - new Zealand - i really it's time for a proper animal to represent NZ at this point, and what is better than the most iconic animal of that island and one of the most recognizable bird: the kiwi.
Japanese Serow - Japan - Japan is one of the most important islands and already have a endemic animal for it, but what about a new and cute one, mainly when is a so incredible caprid.
Marine iguana - Galapagos - this one is kinda controversial, mainly because it's not particularly common in zoos (1 zoo have it) but i don't think having one unrealistic animal in a animal pack is a problem(although none of the animals that i say until now are particularly common in captivity,) but it get's a pass because, let's be honest, the idea of building a enclosure for a bunch of diving iguanas sounds cool af.
Coconut Crab - Indian ocean island (and some portions of continent as well) - biggest terrestrial arthropod of the world, it's not only unique but it's also a amazing animal in the general.
Lowland Anoa - Sulawesi - A small bovid that is unique in every single way, being our only small cattle and one habitat friend from babirusa? hell yeah.
exhibit - honestly this could be literary anything, islands aren't exactly the best place from big animals (since we kill the vast majority of then) but they are a paradise from small animals, with opens a fan of animals to be added here, for example the default exhibit could have: Fiji iguanas, Noronha skink, rhinoceros iguana, Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, Philippine forest turtle, etc.
meanwhile from WE, there's: Philippine eagle, celestial monarch, golden-crowned flying fox, green billed coucal, and many others.
this all without counting the already mentioned island, like the kea from NZ, the Darwin finch's from Galapagos and many others. but for sake of listing, i will pick the Lord Howe Island Stick Insect, because, well there's was archive form then in the game, so i think it's fair to put them here

so yeah, i think this would be a pretty solid pack for summer and a pretty good pack in the general.

Would be a dream Pack for me especially with the Dik Dik. Yes, some would say African antelope but the Dik Dik just Looks different to the African antelopes we have, lives only in pairs and we still miss the really small antelopes. The Mara can be mixed with a Lot of South American animals. We would have a bird and a Reptile. Perhaps we could Switch the Sand Cat with the Hamadryas Baboon because then we would have a monkey but I am also fine with the Sand Cat. Porcupine and Coati are Just must-haves in my opinion.

I agree Dik Dik are such a cool antelope and our game don't have any small antelope and I feel the Dik Dik fits perfectly! I also probably would swich the Sand Cat for Baboon even though I really love the Sand Cat they are so cute! but one of the biggest reasons why I added it to the list is because we know how much frontier love their cats and canines so what are you prefer the Sand Cat or Coyote? hehehe but yeah Baboons would be probably an better option!

I believr the next pack or the one after might be a aviary pack.
The game has everything in it now to make them work in WE, enrichment options and or non flight birds.
The only reason not to include any type of bird in a tropical pack is because you have a plan with birds in the near future

Unfortunally i don't agree.

We have been saying that the next pack will probably be aviary or will include flying birds for more than a year now, and it never is.

I think the next pack will be an animal pack, with maybe 1 bird. Probably desert focus or if they paid attention to the response to the Tropical pack, an animal pack with a focus on more tropical species (like islands, rainforest or a mix of both).

I hope the next pack is going to be either a highlands animal pack, desert animal pack or islands animal pack:
Highlands animal pack:
1. Gelada
2. Spectacled bear
3. Markhor
4. Himalaya Monal
5. Sichuan takin
6. Alpine marmot
7. Wolverine
8. Bearded vulture

Desert animal pack:
1. African crested porcupine
2. Hamadryas baboon
3. Addax
4. Dromedary camel
5. Perentie
6. Chacoan peccary
7. Roadrunner/ringtail/echidna
8. Frilled lizard/moloch/kookaburra/jerboa

Islands animal pack:
1. Green sea turtle
2. Rockhopper penguin
3. Matschie's tree kangaroo
4. West Indian manatee
5. Tasmanian devil
6. Coquerel's sifaka
7. Cuban crocodile
8. Coconut crab
YES! I really want to see the 4. Himalaya Monal, it's one of the most beautiful birds in the world!

Na, believing that the next Pack will be an aviary pack is the Case since at least December 2021. So I would really Not Put too high expectations into that. And in contrast to that Islands is Just a short time highrunner.

A pretty important difference is that the Island pack prediction is based only on having a potential roster with lots of fandom favourites (wishlist and so on). But an Aviary pack is the logical destination since the walkthrough exhibits were added (before the bats it wasn't, just another happy optimistic idea, one of the many we have thrown in this forum).
After having bats and butterflies and sloths... I don't think there is much room left for WE unless we get the birds. I think for the exhibit slot in the next pack we have just 3 options:
  • Come back to regular exhibits, as we are still in dire need of the Missing Reptile Trinity: chameleon, gecko, cobra.
  • Finally, WE with a bird, hopefully more than 1 species, because it would feel ridiculous otherwise.
  • Trolling us a little, WE with another mammal, maybe a marmoset or tarsier? But I find this the least likely, I think it doesn't make sense having a WE primate while the rest is regular habitat. I can't find much more WE candidates among mammals or insects, and other animal group sound even less possible.

In my opinion a complete Pack is Not the logical Destination. This would mean a pack full of looped animated Exhibit animals. I know some would celebrate IT but on the other hand there are people which Just do not want a regular pack full with exhibit animals (birds or not).
In my opinion the logical destination are birds as WTE Exhibit animals in future packs but I think the Sloth is just such a popular animal within the world they Just wanted to include it now.

I reckon there are two more options for Walkthrough Exhibits that I could see before birds:

• Two Toed Sloth - We got the Three Toed… now we need the Two Toed! Planet Zoo loves to give us things in ‘twos’. For example, we just got the Lar Gibbon after getting the Siamang. I think that the Two Toed Sloth is still a likely addition, in fact even more likely, after the Three Toed’s inclusion.
• Golden Orb Web Weaver Spider and Madagascar Orb Weaver Spider - I would personally love these animals for Walkthrough Exhibits. The In With the Spiders section at London Zoo is one of the best parts of any day there, and I think this would make for a very unique and left field choice!

I think that we definitely could see these two added as WE species this year before birds. I also reckon that the first WE birds we get will be Hummingbirds, before Frontier finally decides to take the plunge and give us lorikeets or parrots of some kind.

Who knows though? I could be totally wrong! But I don’t think we’re done with non avian WE animals just yet - I think Frontier will probably eek out our feathered friends just a little longer.

I dunno. I feel like we won't get birds in WEs. I'm just telling myself that we won't get them (that way if we don't, I'm not gonna be too disappointed, but if we do, I'll be ecstatic)

This is probably my favorite line up I have heard in a while!

I think people are just expecting the worse by saying birds in WE's won't happen... Like, why wouldn't they? If bats and butterflies happened what is actually stopping small birds? Frontier having a vendetta against birds? That's just a childish thought... I believe they'll come sooner or later.
But expecting the worst is not necessarily such a bad thing. At least better than the opposite especially regarding a game which species inclusion you cannot influence at the end. By that you prevent bigger disappointment at the end

I don't fully agree. While the butterflies and bats are a step towards flight, it doesn't necessarily mean that birds are gonna follow, and it has nothing to do with a "bird vendetta".
The sloth kinda shows the opposite, giving us a more terrestrial/arboreal species that lacks flight.

There's no guarantee that animals with flight are gonna be coming in every single DLC. If they don't come, and people were expecting them, then it'll be horrible complaints against Frontier. If they come, great
