Summer DLC Speculation 2023

Yeah true but they probably delayed the Twilight pack so it can release around halloween. I rememver there was a longer wait than usual between conservation and twilight
Maybe. But, as Yoav said, animal packs seem to be released relatively sooner than scenery. My guess is that animals are easier to recreate than scenery because the scenery needs so much detail to look good in every aspect; authenticity, usage, and even culture...

In the case of animals, it seems like it's easier to change the skin and tweak the model

Just by a couple of weeks. Both the Africa and Conservation pack released in late June. The NAAP released in early October, Twilight in mid October.

Also note how relatively fast modders can release high quality animal mods. I assume that the more clone-y animals in packs take about the same time.

Thinking it'll be late June. The last two years, we got packs on a fairly regular schedule. The only deviation was the SEA pack in March and the Wetlands/Tropical being in April. The other three were June/October/December. I mean, it could be July of course, but probably June.

Which, that means we could possibly get new update/DLC news in a little over two months. Which is exciting. I love the shorter waits., it's like not even really having explored the new DLC fully, and then we get more. Actually with my decreased play time, I've only really explored the main animals I wanted in the last three packs, so I have a lot of catching up to do anyways.
The wetland and tropical beign in april was mostly for easter. We always have a dlc in the easter week. For summer dlc, Im seeing mid-late june for the release

Oh yes, that's true. All first of the year packs have been right before Easter. Kind of weird thing to have as a pattern, but a pattern it is!

I know the idea of a Desert Animal Pack has been tossed around by quite a few people, myself included, but is it too similar to the Grasslands Animal Pack? There's a decent bit of overlap of deserts and grasslands, especially with the Emu, Caracal, and Striped Hyena. I'm not sure if there's enough viable desert animals left for an animal pack without it getting repetitive. The Sahara desert region will only get us so far, and with the general consensus being that arid Australia is complete, what does that leave? The North American deserts such as the Mojave and Sonoran deserts and the Gobi desert barely have any good species at all.

Feeling either Desert/ Drylands or Mountains/ Highlands animal packs

Drylands:

Dromedary
African Crested Porcupine
Addax
Yellow-Footed Rock Wallaby
African Spurred Tortoise
Short Beaked Echidna
Roadrunner/ Peccary
Exhibit: Thorny Devil or Vulture/ Condor

Highlands:

Spectacled Bear
Hamadryas Baboon
Takin
Wolverine
Tree Kangaroo (Idk if this is a stretch for mountains)
Markhor
Patagonian Mara
Exhibit: Hopefully some bird lol

Drylands or Highlands, we can probably get the aoudad in both... I'm going to start an aoudad fan club.

I'm not referring to you specifically, but I've seen this comment made by several people. It's funny that some people think the desert pack would be too similar and close to grassland and then some of them think an island pack with only tropical animals is more likely :ROFLMAO:

What if frontier adding the Asian water monitor (making lizard swim animations) leads to us getting the marine iguana in an island animal pack? We’ve seen them recycle assets before plenty of times

I know a lot of zoo purists would hate it but I’d be over the moon to have marine iguanas in the game and design incredible habitats for them!

Not bad, actually. Maybe add diving to the Komodo dragon and Nile monitor and possibly to tapirs and elephants in the future?

Are there any animals not in-game that could potentially be added that deep dive?

a wild guess, but this doesn't happen, because there are pretty much no notorious island animals that aren't from tropical islands?

idk man, outside of japan there isn't a single island animal that isn't from a "tropical island", given that the vast majority of non-tropical islands don't have a single species that is worth to mention.

I think deserts would be distinct enough from Grasslands it wouldn’t be sn issue. I think many themes would be too similar to Grasslands but a deserts theme isnt among them. Besides, Savanna, Plains, Drylands, Scrublands all seem a bit too similar to Grasslands but that’s not stopped people, myself included, from suggesting them. Of course of those Drylands is the most vague and could include deserts and the more arid dwelling animals of those other regions

Guys I'd be glad if you could help this post get to Frontier:

It's about the hippos and rhinos still fighting even though just now the hippo got enrichment from the RRH.

Let us build consistent safari habitats.
