Supercruise assist NOT working any more?

I recently installed ED again and bought a Supercruise Assist module. I have tried resetting it, restarting it, power on/off cycle etc but nothing seems to make it actually work.
When I come out of a hyperspace jump it says 'Hyperspace dethrottle' or something similar and I speed into the sun and crash and burn..

I have read several threads about this 'feature' happening on console, some on PC, but they date back over the last 3 years.. None of the suggested solutions have worked for me.
Without this turning into a 'Odyssey is a mess' thread, could anyone help me figure out why this is happening and if there is a fix?
I hate Supercruise and am currently doing the 5000LY trip for a suitably sadistic engineer :alien: and any help would really be appreciated.

I use a HOTAS with a 'custom' keybind config. Axes are managed by Elite. Keypresses by Joystick Gremlin.
Throttle is set to full range with 0 in the middle and -100 at the back and +100 at the front.
I think this is what is confusing Elite if I'm honest but I don't know how to fix it.

I haven't tried this but maybe full range doesn't work together with a Supercruise assist if ED reads axis position?

Thanks for your help commanders...

You can turn off hyperspace dethrottle in the right-hand panel somewhere under the ship tab. (That feature sets your throttle to 0 after hyperspace so that you don't crash and burn into a sun.)
To use the Supercruise Assist, select the destination in the left-hand panel, and then select the Supercruise Assist button on the screen that pops up.

IIRC hyperspace de-throttle might get confused by throttle position in HOTAS setup.
As in, it will set the throttle to zero immediately after a hyperspace jump, but this action will be overwritten by analogue throttle input from hotas throttle position.

I use it with no issues both on XBox using controller and on PC using kbm

Exactly this. I (almost) always zero the HOTAS throttle as soon as the jump has initiated, that way the Hyperspace de-throttle will stay activated in case (when) I get distracted by something once the jump has completed.

I mostly solve this problem by doing most of my late night travel in a ship that won't burn if accidentally left in the toaster. A Dolphin is great for that, for instance.

Thank you, that's what I thought might be causing the issue. I'll test it later and report back for anyone else with the same issue...
It's 100% that, it's a known issue. Example: try setting the throttle to 100% and alt+tab during the hs jump. Dethrottle will work perfectly fine, until you click into the game window again, at which point the throttle will activate and you will start accelerating. But until you're out of the game window you can see it working, as your ship is not accelerating.

I can also confirm what everyone else has said: if you have an analog throttle, its position will override the dethrottle as soon as the game gets its input.
In short, de-throttle doesn't work if you use an analog throttle, unfortunately.

Isn't it the case that you come out at zero throttle until you actually move the throttle (even if it is not at zero) - I am sure that is what it did when I tried it out but I might have been taking too many dried frog pills back then.

Appreciate your help, thank you. Does Supercruise Assist work even if Auto De-throttle after Hyperjump doesn't?

In my experience, I don't need to move the throttle: whatever position it is, it overrides the de-throttle.

SC Assist works all right.
In terms of priority, at least in my (and those who have played with me) experience, it's
Supercruise Assist>Analog Throttle>Auto dethrottle

My suspicion is that analog throttle position only overrides the dethrottle when the controller sends the game an update. For some controllers this might happen continuously, and for others only when the position is detected to have changed. This would explain why some people report that analog always overrides, others report that it only overrides when moved, and still others report that it overrides after an unpredictable delay. (I'm in the overrides-when-moved-except-sometimes-not boat, which makes me think it's tiny motions triggering it.)
