Supersampling, is it worth it outside of VR?

Thanks guys.
I have quite normal pesky IPS 24" 1080p 60Hz monitor. So I was wondering about that.
I was considering triple monitor setup, since I have 3 very same monitors, but the side monitors distortion and the mess nVidia surroud produces is rather offputting.
You need to lower your FoV significantly, it becomes more acceptable then. Also proportions might become more real. The problem lies within ED, not nVidia's Sourround. If ED had true triple screen support, like some race sims do, there where no distortions.

@Topic: You will always get a sharper picture by using super sampling, especially on whole-number factors. You will also get anti-aliasing (the true one, not some post FX filter). The question, you need to ask for yourself is, do you notice it?

well, we are talking about 1080p in my case. So my 980Ti can do 2x supersample and still hold 60 fps almost 100%. And I¨ve noticed especially thin lines on my UI are not jaggy.

My 970Ti can't do 2X well, so I have it set down to 1.5X and it looks pretty good on my 1080 monitor.

Internal supersampling isn't worth it, apart from the 2x multiplier from my point of view. Try 2,25x DSR instead with 30% filtering.

AFAIK theres no 970Ti man... only 970 and 1070Ti ... and 970 to 980Ti, that's 55% difference, so ... thats like a lot. and 1070ti is like what 15% better than 980Ti.
