Support for Keyboard LCD-Displays?

I have a G13/G15/G19 - I'll be adding support for these devices into the BPC tool in the next (or the one after) version. Pop over to the BPC topic and post any ideas you'd like to see for it. For the first implementation, I'll have current system, probably how old the data in the BPC is for that system, a list of known stations (I'm adding landing pad data shortly), and the top 5 trades within 30LY from that system.

I already have code to support those devices from another project (and the LCD driver libraries have been included with the last 3 or 4 BPC updates), so it's just a case of turning it on, which I'm looking to do some work on tonight.

Ok - I've got the basic implementation done in the BPC - I'm posting it here for reference :) (sorry about the quality, and the rotation!)

There are 3 screens, the first (SYS) shows where you are, when the data for it was last updated in the BPC, and any stations the BPC has data for.

the 2nd is the top 3 BPC runs from this system (I'll likely make this scrollable). It lists destination, commodity, amount, profit.

And the 3rd is the flight log which shows the last 3 systems you've visited

That'll be in the next version of the BPC when i get around to uploading it later today or tomorrow.

Yes - That's from my G13, but I have a G15 and G19 which I'll test on before I deploy it tonight, just to make sure.

If anyone's hanging around the BPC chat room later tonight, I'll be kicking around at some point (likely after 9pm GMT) and you can have a play with the new version before I put it live.

v4.2.1.1 with G-series support is now available - see the BPC Market Tool topic (or download from my sig).

Excellent work so far.

I wish the logs had current target bounty data, earned bounties and some other credit data ( buyout, total credit, etc) because those would be nice too.

More examples of why Elite should have api's for add-ons.

Excellent work Slopey

in the meantime there is one useful applett i have used for years on a g 15/19 an thats
LCDSirReal
it has cpu speed,down/upload speed,stopwatch,time/date,memory usage
not hugely impressive but handy at times

I think so, but I've not tested it. I have one at work, so if you can wait until Monday, I can give you a definitive :) (or I'll make it work).

You mean you guys actually use that mini screen on those keyboards? I never saw the point in that feature as who in their right mind would need to look down at their keyboard while gaming? I'd much rather keep my eyes on my monitor, but then again I can touch type so never look at the keyboard anyway.

There's a lot of uses for it. It's actually quite handy.

I was under the impression there was an issue with logitech gaming software and ED not being compatible and that was causing some stability issues or am i wrong ? and if i was right did the new update today resolve it ?.

Haven't actually played yet as i had to do a complete rebuild of my OS (W7 64) had the game 3 days and 1 support ticket before i saw this

If you are running any 3rd party hardware monitoring software or graphics card companion programs such as EVGA Precision, Nvidia Experience or AMD Gaming Evolved, please try closing them and then try running the launcher. These programs can usually be found with an icon running in the System Tray (lower right of the screen). Please also try closing down any other non-essential programs to rule these out. Here is the known list of software which currently doesn't interact well with the game:

• AMD Gaming Evolved / Raptr Client
• EVGA PrecisionX 16 - System monitor
• Lucid Virtu MVP - Virtual VSync
• Nvidia Shadowplay - Game Recording thing
• Logitech Gaming Software - Software for a gaming Keyboard.

Now i use AIDA64 to monitor system temps for my CPU - OC and other system stats and with the G15 keyboard in order to be able to use the LCD to monitor these stats i need the logitech gaming software,

So has this been sorted or is this problem random ?

I run Raptr Client and the Logitech Gaming software both while playing Elite through the Rift (and thus immediately making the little display on the G19s obsolete ;)) and have not encountered any problems, not the kind I would link with those programs anyway. Have been running this setup since beta, and apart from the issue with the Rift & LGS, no problems.
