Summary
System: Zlota for hand in, Combat in Novas
Station: Nusslein-Volhard Settlement (Coriolis starport, large pads available, 1,443 Ls from main star, 125.79 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Hand in Pilots Federation Combat Bonds from destroying Thargoid ships in Novas
Time limit: 12th May 3308 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
The Empire is offering bounties on Thargoid vessels in the Novas system.
Commodore Morag Halloran, who coordinates Salvation’s military forces, broadcast this message on public channels:
Salvation has started construction of three anti-xeno superweapons to expunge the latest Thargoid infestation. He estimates two more weeks before these devices become operational. Until that time, it is vital that we keep the Thargoids at bay to minimise civilian casualties.
The anti-xeno taskforce of the Imperial Navy is part of a joint operation to buy time for the superweapons to be completed. This includes rewarding independent pilots for defending the Novas system.
Commanders can hand in combat bonds for Thargoid kills until the 12th of May 3308 at Nusslein-Volhard Settlement in the Zlota system.
Jade Sanderlyn, a reporter for Vox Galactica, has been granted permission to interview the admirals in command of the taskforces. Her conversation with Admiral Henry Paul Atherton is being broadcast by the flagship INV Succession in Novas and will be syndicated via newsfeeds.
The campaign begins on the 28th April and will run until the 12th May 3308.
To earn rewards you must sign up as an active participant before handing in Pilots Federation Combat Bonds at Nusslein-Volhard Settlement in the Zlota system.
Please note that if you have any crew members, a proportion of your combat bonds will be automatically assigned to them. These combat bonds will not count towards your personal contribution total, and your crew will receive the reward for these combat bonds when they are handed in. The proportion of combat bonds assigned to your crew will depend on their rank.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • Two week long CG
  • Nusslein-Volhard Settlement is at planet 3
  • Station services: Commodities Market, Shipyard, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel, Social Space

Should highlight the Zlota system name more... The battle may be in Novas but the hand in location is not Novas but Zlota.. lol expect confusion over that...

Does this include scouts, or just the "big flower" ships? In other words, can someone with a regular non-xeno ship participate? I've never done a combat "zone" with aliens, just signal sources with scouts. I've been itching for some combat, but I don't have much interest in fighting flowers, just aliens I can use regular weapons on. Can I find that gameplay in this CG, or is it only for serious xeno-hunters?

It includes the 80K scouts kills and the 100K bonus for reaching tier levels in AX zones...

Since it's about handing in PF bounty vouchers, Scouts should count too.

Okay, are there actual static combat zones that are shared between all players? Or is it just the traditional random signal sources?

Also, you folks who fight scouts, do you frequently find people to wing up with in a CG like this?

AX confilct zones are POI and are fixed location... once enough interceptor class are kiiled the AX conflict zone bar is full and the AX conflict zone ends... Leave and re entrer to restart
Single run limited items POI NHSS provide limited number of kills and are fixed locations but end sooner...
The three locations for these CG are prefixed events theres no RNG on them...
Due to the salvation story line the 3 systems are fixed in state as other incursions could end due to the kill raito triggering an end event...

Due to the player Desync issue in open people don't like to play with randoms as the status of instance can be broken...
Many random still try and have partial success but also have high failure rate...

Interceptors are the small "old school" Thargoid ships, yes, no? I'm an AX noob, LOL. Also, is there an actual conflict going on in these zones like traditional CZs, with human NPCs fighting the goids? I've never done one, because I assumed they were only for ships equipped with anti-AX weapons (something I don't have).

Yes Interceptors are every thargoid ship that are not scout classes...
They come in multi classes like the scouts... but unlike scouts you will need AX weapons.. or Guardian weapons or Salvation Augmented weapons (saw)
Cyclops5-6
Basilisk6-7
Medusa7-8
Hydra8-9

If you do an AX conflict zone there is RNG applied to what shows up... if you do NHSS the treat level selects the Class of interceptors...

Okay, it's the scouts that I want (I can destroy those with conventional weapons). Are these found in CZs? Or NHSS only? If the latter, do those count towards the CG? It sounds like it does, but I just want to clarify.

Scouts are in both. NHSS 4 contain only scouts... Human only weapons take a lot longer... (Ax multi cannons are easy to get.. )
You can run from the AX CZ when interceptors turn up...
Any scout kill counts for CG but interceptors will pay alot more over mills more...

Interceptors are the big flower Thargoids.
The scouts are the small UFO like thargs

You can kill the scouts with normal weapons, but the AX MC turrets are so much better - you can simply buy those, no unlocks needed
Also it is advised to pack some decon limpets, at least size 3.
And strong shields

AX CX are like: scouts and npc in the beginning, then 2-3 interceptors pop in the while scouts keep respawning.
The NPC can do sort of well (if you actually kill the hearts) against cyclops, but sometimes the first batch of interceptors might contain basilisks and/or medusas. And if that happens it's game over for the poor NPC (also for the less prepared humans)
So you can go in, kill scouts then bail out of the instance when interceptors pop in, then get back in...

Okay, that sounds like fun. Do traditional weapons do anything against the interceptors? Don't they at least weaken shields? I'm thinking if I'm in there with other players, I could help them keep the shields down, even if I don't have any DPS against hearts or anything like that.

they work against interceptor shields, but i dont think they work at all against the hearts
edit: however, ax mc do work against Cyclops so if you manage to pack 4 large ax mc turrets or a combination of large/medium ax mc turrets, you can have fun with interceptors too, assuming you get lucky to get 2 Cyclops and not the nastier variants

Scout only kills count... ( cyclops give 8 mill for a single kill)

Back when I last hunted scouts, which admittedly was a long time ago, I did so in a Vulture. I tried both G5 gimbaled beams and AX turrets, and while the turrets did more damage, they seemed to miss more than they hit, so TTK was about equal to using my beams. My beams also never ran out of ammo and worked great whenever a non-AX ship dropped in. I don't know if things have changed since then. I guess I can swap out weapons if so.
